Daniel Negreanu Banned from Twitch, Sarcastically Apologizes for Tirade

Daniel Negreanu doesn’t think “breaking a troll’s teeth and feeding it to them anally” is practical. He said so in a sarcastic public apology three days after making physical threats during a WSOP live-stream directed at a chat commenter who insulted his wife. The profanity-laced tirade led to a permanent Twitch ban for the GGPoker ambassador.

Negreanu, as he does every day, began his World Series of Poker online stream at 6 pm PT on Monday. But he was forced to limit his viewership to YouTube and Periscope due to the Twitch ban.

His stream in Event #27, $400 No-Limit Hold’em, was a quick one. The six-time bracelet winner busted just three hands into the stream with suited A-K all-in pre-flop against pocket queens. He stuck around for a few minutes afterward to issue an apology for his comments on Friday.

Negreanu: Sorry, Not Sorry

Negreanu defended his wife Amanda during Friday’s stream. A commenter named “Tom Estrada” fired off an insult toward the poker pro’s spouse. The context of that comment is unknown, as it was quickly deleted.

“Hey, Tom Estrada, go f**k yourself, you piece of s**t. Block that c**k motherf*****g piece of s**t. F**k you, f**k you, f**k you in your ass. How about that? Okay, Tom Estrada, f**k you in your ass. Eat some of that, you piece of s**t. Come f******g step to me and say that and I will knock you the f**k out. How about that?” Negreanu responded.

That threatening comment created some backlash on poker Twitter. Doug Polk and Shaun Deeb, long-time Negreanu haters, were among those who piled on. On Monday, the GGPoker ambassador had a few words during his brief stream for those who were critical of his behavior.

“I would like to formally apologize for suggesting that breaking a troll’s teeth and then feeding them to him anally is the appropriate way to deal with an opposing viewpoint,” Negreanu said.

Negreanu continued to explain why the method of response to a Twitter troll isn’t to feed him “his teeth anally.” He claims that doing so “isn’t practical.”

“It’s incredibly difficult to shatter teeth, and even for a practicing dentist, it’s even more difficult to place them in someone’s rectum,” the poker pro joked.

Defending his Love

The vulgar comments directed at his wife, Negreanu says, were offensive and, he claims, that is why he acted in a fit of rage. He said that “when someone comes at me with dumb s**t about my wife, it triggers me more than it should.”

Negreanu also addressed the Twitch ban, claiming he never read the terms of service agreement. He admitted, “they have every right to give me a warning or a suspension.” He disagreed with the permanent ban, however.

In the future, the poker ambassador said he will “simply ignore the comment and hit the block button” when a viewer verbally attacks him or his wife.
