Wear a face mask when entering our casinos or get out, so says Caesars Entertainment. The casino giant is attempting to limit the spread of COVID-19. As such, all guests must wear a face covering at every Caesars property or they won’t be permitted to enter.

Coronavirus is spreading throughout the United States, including in Las Vegas which reopened its casinos on June 4. Since the reopening, Clark County has seen a spike in COVID-19 cases, which was expected. On Tuesday, Nevada set a single-day record with 462 confirmed cases of the potentially deadly virus.

Caesars Entertainment operates nine Las Vegas properties, including five that are currently open. Nationwide, the multi-billion-dollar casino brand also has properties open in Louisiana, Mississippi, Iowa, Missouri, Arizona, California, North Carolina, and Indiana. Caesars Palace in Atlantic City is set to reopen early next month. The new face mask policy applies to already reopened casinos, and to those reopening in the coming weeks.

Caesars Doesn’t Want a Second Closure

With COVID-19 cases spiking throughout the US, Caesars Entertainment is attempting to get ahead of the curve. The owner of the World Series of Poker clearly wants nothing to do with a second shut down of its casinos. As such, the company is doing its part to help limit the spread of the coronavirus.

According to a press release, every patron entering any Caesars property must wear a face covering. The only time a guest can take off the mask indoors is while eating or drinking. This policy doesn’t apply to hotel outdoor pools.

“We promised that Caesars would continue to evaluate the latest recommendations, directives and medical science regarding the COVID-19 public health emergency, and modify our enhanced health and safety protocols accordingly,” Tony Rodio, CEO of Caesars Entertainment, said in a press release. “As a result, we are immediately requiring everyone in our properties to wear masks, because the scientific evidence strongly suggests that wearing masks and practicing social distancing may be the most important deterrents to spreading COVID-19 from person to person.”

Caesars required table games players in Las Vegas to wear a face mask ever since the casinos reopened. Now, the company is taking it a step further to ensure all guests wear face coverings.

Anyone who refuses to adhere to the new policy will be directed by a casino employee to leave the property.
