Announced on February 1, the deal will see Connective Games provide a variety of services to one of India’s emerging online poker sites.

Experienced Partner to Bolster Baadshah Gaming

Despite a decade’s worth of experience serving operators in Europe, Asia and Latin America, tis will be the software provider’s first major move in India.

As well as providing Baadshah Gaming with customized language settings, currency options and payment gateways, Connective Games also hosts an active tournament schedule.

Between these provisions and a ready-made mobile app, Baadshah Gaming CEO Madhav Gupta believes the partnership will give his company the edge in an increasingly competitive marketplace.

Since lawmakers in the state of Nagaland issued the first Indian online poker license to Khelo365 in December 2012, the number of active sites has grown markedly. As well as local startups such as Adda52, international operators have entered the mix.

PokerStars received an Indian online poker license in 2018, making it second major brand to do so after the World Poker Tour (WPT). With the industry starting to flourish, Baadshah Gaming will be looking to harness the experience of Connective Games to boost its profile across the country.

Indian Online Poker Continues to Grow

After raising an undisclosed amount in second-stage funding back in June 2018, the skill-based gaming platform pledged to spend $2.1 million on marketing. A tie-up with the Asian Poker Tour (APT) followed, with Baadshah Gaming offering satellites to live events.

Building on these developments, the company will now use its international partner to challenge the leading Indian poker sites. During its time working alongside European operators like Pokerdom, Connective Games has developed a stable of well-refined poker products.

Combining this technology with experience working in regionalized regulated markets should help Connective Games guide Baadshah Gaming in what’s still an emerging marketplace.

At this stage, Adda52 is the top-ranked Indian online poker site according to PokerScout. However, with the gaming economy still in a fledgling state, no site’s position is stable.

For Baadshah Gaming, the latest move is a chance for it to provide a solid poker platform, grow its customer base and attract future investment.
