This is in the $15 PROGRESSIVE KO PA SCOOP EVENT w/$25K gtd I wanna say. We're down to 80 or so ppl and I'm in ~20th. I was just moved to this table, very first hand dealt so, 1) if I did have many hands on this guy the HUD wouldn't have been updated to this table yet, and 2) neither guy is noted so must not have noticed anything prior to this if I did have any hands on either of em.

The first thing I notice about opener is the pot-sized bet at these levels, which in my opinion is a BIG tell and MAJOR leak.

I'll leave this here for discussion and post the results later.

PokerStars Hand #212106772896: Tournament #2648455515, $6.85+$6.80+$1.35 USD Hold'em No Limit - Level XXIII (5000/10000) - 2020/04/18 23:41:30 ET

Do we call here or can we find a fold to protect out stack. I know we play these tournaments to win them n not just make small amounts per tourney but this spot has been bothering me since the game last night and I thought I'd try n get some input here.

ok, villain open a big size, but in what table position are these players? UTG, SB, BB...?
I would call with KK. this is a bounty tourney, people can shove all-in with JJ QQ AKs AQs. I also think willgp299 had a weak range.

I agree that ppl go crazy bounty hunting n will shove about anything. I think that's more towards the beginning of teh tourney, though. And w/stack sizes the way they sit, I don't think the BB can shove too too light seeing as UTG and Hero both have plenty of pot odds to make the call. Also he is shipping into two larger stacks, both of which raised, one from UTG and Hero in MP. I almost want to say he has to have the nittiest of ranges of the three to be shoving in that position.

So a raise, 3bet, 4bet, 5bet to you. You already had almost 1/3 of your stack in. You fold and have 230,000, win both and have 900,000, or beat big stack and have around 300,000.

BB has a really large range with <15BB and a pot bigger than his stack. He could have anything from a small pair to a moderate suited connectors. Feels like he is taking this chance to triple up, hoping you both have AK.

UTG raised very early, then 3bet and 4bet didn't faze him. Put him on QQ, small chance at KK, or the dreaded AA. He might have gone all in with a high suited Ace in order to get BB in heads up, but since he is chip leader, you can't count on stupid.

I would probably fold the KK, but it would be hard. You've built your stack for hours. If you fold, you'll still be third in chips at an 8 man table. Back to the long game.

You really think that light?

I'm not too sure BB is getting it in w/anything less than JJ, maybe AKs/AQs

BB started the hand with 15BB. He is already looking for a chance to push. So push into a pot you already have 11,000 invested, hope UTG folds or you get a bit of luck to triple up+. He very easily could be hoping his medium suited connectors hit.

I see where you're coming from w/the triple up. I'd just find it tough to shove light w/both guys already priced in.

Never ever ever fold pocket kings before the flop, unless you have an amazing read or tell from a player that leads you to narrow his range allllll the way down to just AA. Unless one of us is Daniel Negreanu, I doubt any of us have that capability.

Happily call here, and just consider it unlucky to run into AA with KK. There's always another tournament.

Also, arguments can be made for folding KK when you are literally on the bubble. I still would never fold KK. We're in it to win it baby!
