I very much agree with you. Especially in the PS regular season, the blind growth time is too slow. Playing a game often takes half a day, and the Turbo is just right. The 5-hour game is not as lucky as the Hyper Turbo

Fast or regular.....even though I play constantly these days I have only been learning poker a little over a yr now. So I'm still learning and playing TAG for the most part. I need the time usually to wait for good hands that have bets attached to them. The blinds kill me in turbo a lot before I can take down a few good pots.

However on PokerStars I have noticed, that regular speed tournaments tend to play 20-30% less hands per hour than turbo tournaments, presumably because people are given more time to act. This I actually find rather annoying, because often you see people use their entire time allowance just to make a trivial decision preflop, and it really slows the action down. And I am not even talking about bubble play here. This happen already in the first blind levels.

This incredibly slow pace, where a regular tournament on Stars might only play 40 hands per hour, also negate some of the effect of longer blind intervals, since the important is, how many hands you play per blind interval, not how long it last. Cuppled with the excessively large fields, which make a regular tournament last 8 hours or more, there is certainly a case to be made for playing turbos on PokerStars.

With a turbo structure, the game turns into a lottery. Push fold, and nothing more. I like more regular and deep stacks.

I like to play slow tournaments as I have time to think over my decisions and carefully apply them

I prefer Turbo or Hyper toureys. Last especially to fill up the gap and when I don't have "unlimited" time

I love tournaments with smooth structure, so you can enjoy the game and play more hands.

When I have time and I feel good, I play regular slow tournaments, and if I don’t have time, I play turbo

i think that regular speed is the best way to play and enjoy a real poker game.
in turbo or hyper you have to win hand so you play without rules you play sometmes like a fool and somtimes you win but in 90 % you loose.
other thing is that to win in hyper or turbo you need too much luck but in regular you have to play well to win like a professional player and that is good ))

I prefer turbo speed but what's more important for me are the other mtt features. I avoid any with a 2 hour registration period...that's just nuts. I like the ones with 1 hour or less for late regs. I also try to avoid the re-buy mtts. Too often you see crazy betting simply because the players know they can buy back in.

My preference are regular but my time available does not allow constantly play as I would like! so game but turbos and to learning to like

I like slow tourneys better than turbos
But since I have a family I can't afford being on poker all day long so I play turbos and hypers

I like to play the fast and the regular variante, but regulary i got better results.

I like turbo speed when i want to play a quick tournament but when i have a lot of time i prefere normal speed to have time to play more hand to build my stack.

Chess takes up the rest of my free time that poker doesn't. I am a huge lover of chess.

Regular seems my speed, the hyper turbos are super luck based and the blinds kill me and I end up out really late..

However I do like the survival mode on ACR those are actually fun.

I don't like regular because 10 minutes blind up I think too long that few years just regular type for you see in any poker site.My favourite type ITs turbo where 5 minutes blind up.

Anything not hyper. because the chance and luck factor higher.

Because in "Turbo speed " you might not get good starting cards at early moments off tour and when blinds went up you'll struggle and it is always harder to play with a shorter stack in Turbo tours

Definitely the deep stacked torunaments. I don't really like to gamble my tournament life too much. In turbo's its mostly pre-flop all-ins, i like to play postflop.

I believe that the regular should really be more like the live tournaments. The hyper as you said often depends on luck, as a bingo, I believe that the middle ground for those looking for faster online gains, the turbo is the most suitable in my humble opinion.

It's true Gryphon, I also think the 2 hour late registration is overkill, and it annoys me the pot-hunting rebuys like bingo, trying to get the numbers right, this is not poker, it can be part, but it is definitely not a pretty move.

Normal pace for me, some of the upper turbo's just turn into bingo games at the end and I am probably the worlds worst bingo player and 3 outers and stuff like 10 2 suited tend to beat me about 70% of the time late in tourneys. I would rather feel like I have a little bit more control than just open shoving or calling an all in at the final three tables of a tourney on nearly every hand. Did I mention I get destroyed by bingo hands?

10 minute blinds are my preference. Turbo and hyper turbo turn into an all-in or fold way too quickly.

I enjoy quick response because second thoughts can be detrimental to your tournament; although, quick response can also be the wrong response. Had a small straight on the flop and ignored the four clubs that ended clubbing me good. Ouch! GOD bless you.

For me it really depends on my mood that day and how long I want to play for

If I want some quick action and just a 'fix' then hypers are great. If I'm doing a short evening session turbos fit the bill. But if I want to maximize my skill edge I like a slow structure.

For the short space the BBs are high and the ALL IN happens more often, turning a little bingo, so you are right, but for those who don't have much time and who think about playing more to profit I see the most suitable turbo.

Really due to everyone's responses, the regular is ideal for practicing the real game of professional poker and more like live tournaments.
And I see that the Turbo is for those who don't have much time and want to play more aiming at profitability. And hyper turbo is for those who like bingo, casinos and sweepstakes ... laughs.

as several others have said. regular and turbo are great to play for several reasons. hyper is another story ..not an enjoyable game for me

regular speed makes me feel more comfortable hyperturbo drives me crazy, 2 hands and the blinds are already too high

I definitely prefer a longer game. For me it means more hands and being able to wait for good hands. I genuinely am not a fan of trying to bluff with crappy hands.

I prefer slower structures as I like playing deeper stacked longer, as opposed to shove-fold short stack strategy. I also prefer short late-entry/re-entry periods so the tournament doesn't drag on forever (waiting on early knockouts to re-enter).

because in these tournaments may more quickly to hit in the prize zone, and this means can more quickly move further
and grow up gradually and consistently by limits...

Personally, I like to play slow tournaments, because they don't run out of chips very quickly, and they usually win by no luck luck

I like 7 minute blinds like Bounty Hunter tournaments has. It's the most comfortable blind increase times for me.
