I won the tournament casino.org and a few times I ranked in the prize position.
It is not that difficult.

Well, probably the main thing is to play skillfully and competently for a start. And I think there are more chances of winning in paid tournaments. In paid games, there will be fewer participants, respectively, and the chances of winning are higher. But in any case, it depends on how you play.

Freeroll or payment

I don’t feel that much of a difference between a freeroll or a buy-in tournament. Everywhere there are those who came just to have fun.

Freerolls help you learn poker while making money without risking your own.

After all, how you play is the first criterion for choosing where to play. You cannot be in the paid profit, that means your place in the freerolls.

Playing in a freeroll will always be plus EV, simply because you don't pay anything but have a chance to win some money.

The question is, can you afford to spend 5-7 hours of your time to win a couple of bucks.

I personally, will always prefer to enter a paid tournament, as I value my time. Only exception is if I need to build a bankroll from scratch, or simply want to have fun and not risk real money.

Freerolls are the best option if you are losing player because depositing will make you lose money if u cant beat micro stakes so its better to start with freerolls if game is too hard

For me it’s easier to win freerolls than buy in tournaments, because in freerolls players usually play more loosely and we find a lot of players that goes all in with any 2 cards.

For me it’s easier to win money in paid tournament than in freerolls. That is probably because a lot of players come to freerolls only to have fun by gambling. So the variance is much higher and you need more luck to win.

After a certain point even the freerolls can play like a paid micro. The doinks weed out and the serious players prevail.

Depends .In my opinion the freerolls worth some big monry are worth it as people aren't thst crazy , comparable with a 50$ freeroll with 4000+ entrants....where ppl won t really care about pushing K8 in the bubble (risking to bubble and not win that 0.03 cents) .But hey , plsy whatever you like my man ;)

for me its easier on freerolls because there are too many newbies who dont know what theyre doing and if your patient and tactical you can literally last til the pay line each time.

Actual buy ins - hands down.

Don't get me wrong, there's hardly any difference between a freeroll and a 25 cent micro tournament -- but freerolls are notably higher variance - thus tougher to win.

Percentily you need win more villains to win a rewards in tournament freeroll of that a real money.
But I don’t know about of difficult of opponents in real money or freeroll

For this, what is more difficult?!

Depending also from the Tourney structure.
There are freerolls at 888 where more than 25% of the players get ITM. If you jump in at the end of reg. and most of crazy all-in players are already eliminated by each other, you can go easy ITM with only on won Pot.
In other MTT's you have to be in the top 15% to get cash.

Both micro tournaments and freerolls require the same amount of skill to beat - I think freerolls are more difficult because of the abnormally high variance, while even the smallest micros are just a little lower on the variance scale.

For me, the best option is tournaments. I do not play cash games because they usually bring me losses.

I think OP is referring to "real money" as in actually buying into a tournament vs a freeroll tournament.

Cash poker itself is a different animal and less variance because of its never changing structure. Betting strategies and dynamics are a bit different however. Im a mediocre cash player but an above average tournament player in the fields I frequent.
