Is it worth it to play in Turbos or is it more cost efficient to stick to MTTs?

The deeper the stacks are the better for good poker players. And in normal or deep MTTs the stacks are deeper longer than in Turbos (or Hypers).

BUT you also have to consider the time factor and that a lot of recreational players prefer the faster tournaments (they want action and something to play that don't take up to much of their free time).

So the swings/variance can be tough in the faster formats - since it becomes a lot of "coin-flips" and other all-in situations when the stacks gets short faster. But the players in general are worse.

Some pros prefer fast tournaments since they can overcome the variance factor by playing a lot of them. And against less hard opponents.

If you look at one single MTT though the deepest structure gives the biggest skill advantage if you are one of the better players in the starting field.

It's hard to say what gives more money per hour (or any other time unit).

While turbos do require skill and help you better yourself at certain aspects of normal poker, I'd say turbos are also more reliant on luck than skill. So I'd recommend a slower-paced poker game for consistent money. For me, turbos can be a bit sporadic in my earnings.

I think turbos are great for sit and goes since you can play alot of them in an hour mutitabling them.
For regular mtts a slow structure is better

It's worth it if you are looking for a quicker payout (or quicker loss).

All I played in casinos were 10 seat Sit and Gos (40 or 100 buyins no addons and 3 minute levels). Funny strategy (let them just destroy each other early and play smartly the SB and BB positions). Had tons of payouts this way (once 3 $100's in a row). Hate sitting there on a say $120 buy-in with like even 80+ players and then not even making the Pay after some 2 hours+.

I never played a turbo and will not play because the turbo needs luck more than skill.

For me it is always preferable to play the regular MTT not the turbos the strategy changes with respect to the ranges of each player since they must be wider, I think it is always preferable to play regular tournaments and not the turbos but that is an appreciation of each player and must be respected, this is just my opinion

Hello, I believe, that turbo MTT play can be, but with small number of participants, mini MTT, and not worth regularly play MTT turbo with large number of participants, so-as dispersion can strongly harm your bankroll. Even if you play well, you can just lose and there's nothing you can do about it. Dispersion is unpredictable and insidious. MTT Turbo here in addition to the ability to play, you need luck to win, you need a lot of luck.

It matters a lot what you like to play. I prefer turbo because it does not last so long and there are not many players. However, when I feel I am in the state and I have enough time I choose an MTT because the profits are there.

I don’t like turbo tournaments because they don’t concentrate normally for the game and the bets go up quickly and you have to play on bad small cards, so if you have a lot of free time and have patience, it’s better to play MTT tournaments

Sometimes I play in turbo tournaments, but these tournaments are freerolls. Typically, such tournaments are more like casino roulette, where player skills are not crucial.

Turbos are good to play if you need to play something that will end a little bit sooner. Just keep in mind that you will have to change up your play a little. Like utilize holdings such as 10 9 suited and play more aggressive with them.
