As for the hand, your raises seems way too much for both pre flop and post flop. Once villain calls your large preflop raise and the board comes T96 rainbow, you don't need to necessarily overbet the flop. If he had AJ-AK, an overbet would've been an easy fold for him. From his perspective, your large bets probably seemed 'bluffy' which is why he called the flop and turn, thereby giving him the straight on the river.
