I have been beating my brains out trying to make the bubble in tournament play and succeeded only a few times. Never big money, just 35 cents or maybe 65 cents. I play cash games at my local establishment so started playing more on line with my 35 cents, hahahah. I am now at $8.55 so why play tournaments at all. Cash games you can really build your skill level because you have serious players not a bunch of All In players. I still enjoy and will continue to play Tournaments so look out, I am getting better. hahahahaha.

At the lowest levels there can be a lot more players will to gamble in tournaments but as you more up you will find the players in tournaments will play much better. If you are playing in free rolls you will always find people playing not seriously until they double up a few times.

Freeroll vs cash games

I think I tend to pay closer attention to my bets when it's my own money.

I do try at the freerolls too though.

My experience with cash games has not been good. 90% of the time I lose my bankroll. I will still take tournaments over cash games.

I love both tournaments and cash. Cash I believe is a lot less variance. It's a fixed blind structure compared to a blind structure that gets raised every 10 to 30 minutes. Tournaments you get moved around to tables that have someone that could have 5 times more than you and plays super aggressive. With that being said, you have to stay within your game and adapt to the table. If it's super aggressive, pick your spots. If it's super tight and slow, try opening up more and stealing pots when you can.

Tournaments are more interesting than cache, but much depends on luck in them. Play something that gives you more pleasure.

I think that in the future I will probably play more cash games as supposed to tournaments. However, for now I like playing tournaments better than cash games. I tend to have better luck in tournament games.

I play both and do well in both. I look for the Mtts with at least 10 minute rounds.

I was the same until I realized I could actually make money playing cash games. Tournaments has too much luck involved for me. Too many people going all in with nothing or marginal hands. If you have AA and bet out 4BB that usually thins the field in cash games, in tournaments not so much. With my luck I loose to two pair or trips every time.

Tournaments I find more leisurely and less stressful. Not sure why exactly. But playing cash if I end up winning few nice pots, I feel the urge to exit the table to keep my winnings.

I'd like to be a better, more patient cash player.

You must understand that some players manage to play well at cash tables a, and others at tournaments. It’s the same as one can sing, and the other can only dance. Everyone chooses what he likes. It turns out that your advice is not suitable for everyone.

all forms of poker, spin, cash, tournaments must try, and you're better, in that you must concentrate all your efforts.

Both are difficult without study and dedication, I recommend playing both at low levels and choosing the one with the best results.

I don't really like cash games! Probably the style of discipline I am not very fit! I play it (the cache) in the weak minus or zero! But the dynamics disappoints me, tournaments are much more interesting, probably, that there are more diverse have to make decisions!

When my wife and I go to the casino I like the cash games because I usually make enough playing the 2/4 games with enough profit to then lose it in the slots. Fun times.

The thing I hate about tourneys is the amount of time you have to dedicate then be busted at the bubble. However when you win it's fun and lets face it, it's good practice.

Cash play is the way to go over tournaments because tourneys just take to long unless you are playing big stakes

Tournaments are a lot more fun in my opinion, that's if you have the time and patience to play them and time is a rare commodity this days for me,so when i have some time i join a couple of cash games and usually get out with a decent win after a couple of hours...
