Tournament Poke GTO vs Exploitive?

We all have heard the latest buzz around playing GTO. I have been studying and applying it to my game but come from a much more exploitive style - It seems to me that GTO is much better suited for cash games and may explain why I have always had better results in tournament poker with my exploitative style.

I am wondering if other people have come to this conclusion as well?

I think a mix of both could be the answer, for a exploitaiteve style you need information of your opponents so you can't start with that style so gto could be a good way to start in the games and then mixing them up
