Tournament canceled after more than two hours of play

How pokerstars explain to us the Micro Million $1 Million Guaranteed tournament canceled due to a technical glitch, even if I won some money, this is not the first time this happened, can I say I would have won 1st place and get $100k. Instead of distributing prize-pool by calculating our chips.
Do you have the right to say you would have won first place or what do you think

Well first of all to me this looks like a sophisticated way to give money to people and to keep em playing in their room. PokerStars is kind of losing its ground of industry leader to GG so this really looks like some desperado move. I don't know for sure. But i definately do not believe in any tech difficulties or hackers or whatever. Really to me there is one explanation.

But yeah anyway what can you do. I do not think anybody can do much.

Yes, as I said, what can we do but express our sadness, yes, although Pokerstars is one of the largest and best poker rooms in the world, but in the past two years it has been suffering from multiple technical problems, which led to the cancellation of many tournaments every time, yes he The tournament was suspended for an hour or more and the number of participants exceeded sixty thousand, knowing that Pokerstars did not get his money from the guaranteed prize-pool, but if the tournament had not stopped, the losses would have been less or the prize-pool would be bypassed.

It obviously suck, when a tournament is cancelled, but does anyone seriously believe, that a poker site would do this without being forced to by technical problems? Its bad publicity for them, and they dont get any financial gain from cancelling. On the countrary they loose money, if the tournament was still in late registration and had not yet exceeded its guaranty. Apparently this cancellation happened, after late registration closed, but PokerStars did not gain anything from this, since they still had to pay out the 1M pricepool.

They do. It's just a long term gain (supposebly)

Now, sure there is a possibility that they had some tech difficulties. However
1) They had many many tournament with much more players, and everything was fine. For 20 years. What are the odds of this particular tournament getting difficulties?
2) They basically gave away 10k tickets to this tournament. Now im not playing on PS too much, had this happen in past? Like with so many tickets just being gave away for free? Like this really makes it much less probable that it was an accident. Instead this looked like a set up stuff.

In my opinion GG Poker is a totally shitty site, which does a lot of things, that are very bad for poker, like turning it into just another casino game with a lot their "brilliant" new inventions, where players are forced all in half the time. But if you like it that way, then by all means play there

Wait whats the problem of having normal poker for true hardcore regs and some "silly" stuff for people who want to have fun?

First of all GG simply looks beter. Its more advanced in any single direction by a mile. Its like poker in 4k. While other rooms are 8bit poker. Really 20 years pokerstars exist and their soft look exactly the same.

But say whatever you want, reality is that people moving to GG. And if you call GG silly room for bad players, and wana stay 'real', well the main thing is still people. Players who wana have fun. I dont see bunch of hungry regs playing each other to lose to rake by the end of the day. Whether you like it or not you will follow the crowd.

GG Poker dont offer their services in my country (sweden), because they have still not gotten their act together and aquired a license. And when a poker site cant do such a basic thing, then it obviously dont matter, how fancy their graphics are or anything else. PokerStars on the other hand just returned to the Swizz market, and I now see several Swizz players on the tables, because PokerStars is a serious company, that work with regulators rather than pretend, that its still year 1.800 and the wild west. And dont worry. Its still easy to make money on PokerStars

I agree with you on changing the course of the discussion to GGpoker. I totally disagree with you that I can't say I would have won first place, and I have a right to that, all players have the right to say that, even if the tournament lasted more than two days. This is the poker game that everyone wants to win, and no one knows who will win the tournament

That would require using a VPN to pretend, I was somewhere else and providing them with a false adress and false papers to prove that adress, if they asked for verification. As with other poker sites this would be a breach of their TOS, and I would risk having my account banned and my funds confiscated. I dont see, why I would ever want to take such action, when I can play legally on most other poker sites.

I apologize for contributing to this derailment of the thread. It happened, because some GG Poker fanboy apparently felt, that this was a good opportunity to bash PokerStars and promote his new favourite place. And in my opinion thats just silly. It sucks when a tournament has to be cancelled, but its an unfortunate part of online poker, and it has happened on all poker sites and surely also on GG Poker. For the record I have played over 5.000 tournaments on PokerStars , and not a single of them was cancelled, while I was still playing it. I think, thats a pretty solid record, and those, who were affected by this cancellation, should just get over it and move on

I read that maybe they canceled the tournament due to the losses they would have since the guaranteed amount had not been covered with the buy-in and re-buy, and that for them it was better to do that like that, it's just something I read, but no idea if that It has some truth, but it is a possibility

Well they still paid all the guarantee, the whole milion. And also, why did they give away like 10k tickets to this tournament for free in freerolls? Is this not suspecious? Can anyone who plays on PokerStars confirm that this happens alot? Like did they gave away so much free entries to this event before? If this is what they always do then maybe its not as suspecious.

Now which poker room is "best" or "most advanced" is of course a matter of personal taste, and since I cant play on GG Poker, I have no personal experience with them. I do think, there are a lot of disadvantages to this site though including:

* Ridiculous terms and conditions
* No SnGs
* Lots of juvenile stuff with avatars etc.
* Shady ambassadors like Dan Bilzerian
* More casino like poker games than other sites
* Still no license in several markets

I am not arguing, that the site is popular and has grown its player base rapidly over the last years. But lots of things are popular without being very good. Like for instance drugs or Donald Trump
