Hi all!
I often win tickets for the sunday million via satellites but I rarely make it in the money.
Does anyone have any tips for playing the sunday million?

There is no one way, each tournament is different) And it's a bit silly to think that you will be in prizes every SM) It would be too cool, at least because the size of the field is huge) Maybe key to make runs deeper - play less hands more tightly, idk) Depends on your playstyle and knowledge base at all)

Play slow don't bluff to start, make it know your not playing lose. As it progress open it up to re raising more stealing pots. Don't always get caught up trying to steal blinds on the button this can end badly when close to the money

It's just poker so you should just do your best as in any tournament and don't think too much about how expensive the tournament was because you play the cards and not the buy in. Just stay calm and play as well as you can and don't play too loose, but basically no one can tell you how to play because every tournament is different and the people you meet at the table are always different. And sometimes you win sometimes you lose. It's all part of poker. I wish you much success

Its just another MTT, so I dont think, it makes any sense to talk about a special strategy. I have never played Sunday Million, but I would assume, its softer than other 109$ events on pokerstars, because its the featured weakly event, which should attract more recreational players than for instance some random 109$ "Bounty Builder" or "Hot" running tuesday evening.

So most likely there is anything from world class pros to recreational players, who have satellited in, just like yourself. Or who just prefer paying 109$ to play a tournament, where they can win real money rather than playing a 2,2$ MTT for money, that dont matter to them. Its a PKO now, so you course you need to make the same adjustments, you do in other PKOs. If you dont know, what those are, that might be a good place to start your study. Best of luck ;)

You're often lucky enough to win Sunday's million tickets via satellites. But it seems to me that the tournament itself is no different from satellites. Although expensive there, the desire to knock out a player forces players to play with bad cards, and they can get lucky there. So it's all a matter of luck because a pair of aces doesn't guarantee you won't lose!

I have never played in Sunday million, but in expensive tournaments, I have very poor results, I got into prizes only 1 time, I think I'm in a hurry and I don't have enough patience, you just need to analyze your game to understand the reason, open the history and look at the hands played to understand where that is- what's going wrong

Maybe try late registration. It might be a tournament where many players have won there entry and those tend to play loose and often go all-in in early stages, as they consider their tickets "play-money". Most of these players will be gone after the first hour.

It is a tournament that has been running every Sunday for many years (more than a dozen). Many get in cheaply via satellites but many others pay the full price... and many others pay it a few times (as re-entry is available and the more skilled players will often be buying in more than once in early stages).
In my experience I don't tend to see satellite players going allin early because of paying less. It's actually often the opposite... players don't typically play that high of a buyin and play tighter as a result.
Typically the easiest chips in a tournament are the ones that can be picked up in the early going. It's a bad idea to not take advantage of this unless one is very poor at deep stack play. BUT as the Sunday Million is now a Progressive Knockout tourney, it would be very bad to start late in it.

If you play tournaments correctly, it doesn't matter whether it's a satellite or a main one - you'll have prize money.

Right fact, wrong reasoning. This is the reason why you want to take there chips in the first hour
