Hey everyone,
I recently built a bankroll from $5 to $50 just playing spin and gos, started off playing 0.25 buy in’s with the regular spin and go’s so 3 at the table then gradually moved up to $1. However, I tried them again recently for a week and just went on a massive losing streak.

Was wondering what everyone’s thoughts are on spin and go’s and which variation they play if they play them?

If you start to lose constantly, chances are you are not working on your game or developing. There are enough players who make money in such tournaments thanks to their daily work.

Swings are part of poker, and even more so in this format, because you also depend on hitting the high multipliers and then of course cashing, when you do. Losing 30 BIs will be pretty common, and 50 or even 100 will happen from time to time.

swings like this happened to me as well, sometimes it is so easy to build a bankroll, and then lose it. I still do not know how to handle it.

Spin & Gos are definitely high variance given you're not sure of how much you'll be able to win and often be in situations in games where there is hyper action and aggressive play where you sometimes just have to hope to win hands. Sometimes you win plenty and go on win streaks to build up that big bankrolls, other times it's the complete opposite.

Hi

I'm triying to add to my game something like Stop Loss in Forex.

For example, if you are playing now 1$. When you lose ~8$ during the session you should back to 0,25. To stay in the game and limit losses. When you get back over 8$ you go back to 1$.

It works preety cool for me ;)

Nice advice, tbh I enjoyed spin and go’s for a while but now I’m not particularly enjoying them so moved to SnG’s which I’m enjoying much more, even though profit is a lot steadier in SnG’s but would like to eventually play mtt’s so thought SnG’s will be good practice

So try to combine it. I'm playing right now at pokerstars but in other rooms should be similar.

Many torunaments have sit-go satellites. After you win first time, you get a ticket to MTT. Any other winning automatically turn into T$. You just have to choose popular torunament, than satelites will be started preety often.

I like to play Spin & go too, mainly when I have no time to play many hours. The math behind this is winning half of times to get profitable.

The course will definitely be better in the 1$.
I think you should review concepts and delve a little deeper into the basic theory. Spin is a simple game as it relies heavily on push folds. Study more nash tables to better understand the concepts. Remember that spin and go have a high rate of variance, so don't be afraid of it.

spin and go

I wish I could play on Stars Spin N Go's because I trust stars.I ultimately think ACR,I do not have a shred of proof just my opinion, holds out until enough money has been inputted before activating the large $1,000,000 prize. I mean they are not in offshore casino to lose money after all to take on massive risks. Like if the $1m jackpot hit for their spin and gos I would never play them because realistically no business wants that risk appetite. I trust stars because it is licensed and has a lot of goodwill with me.

I'm not a spin go fan, lately I've been playing mtt knockout, freerolls, casino and sports betting on pokerstars.

This loss is part of a poker player's life. Any player will have ups and downs, you could be in a bad run, just or you have to adjust your game more, because as you moved up you may be a little behind in the $1 environment.
Try to see if it's really a matter of study or if it's just the variance.

I really like this game, sometimes I want to distract myself in a long tournament, and the chance to win a big prize spurs me on :)
