Still watching and rooting you on, Dingo!

Man, that KK all-in vs. AA... can't believe ezbz hit a K. hotmatt goes from chip leader to chump. That stings.

I think you made the right play. Lots of people had been laying down hands against all-in bets, even when they already had some chips in the middle. Luck just ran out on you.

Thanks for the good entertainment and congrats on cashing. :) Goodnight now....

Incorrect and being results-oriented. Had you hit your A or K, would you be questioning your play?

If you flat call, you're most likely going to have to face another bet when having seen only three board cards. If your A or K don't hit (i.e. 2/3rds of the time), you will be forced to fold. Pushing and ensuring you see all five board cards in a probable coinflip situation is ideal, and the correct play (I'm assuming you weren't deepstacked, in which case a call or pot reraise may be more appropriate).

I thought it was the right play. Just plain ran out of luck. I enjoyed watching though, and congrats on making the final table and a nice share of dough.

I saw the play - i'd have made it. Dingo was in 3 or 4th place, 50 or 60K chips blinds weren't huge i dont think 1,500/3,000 + ante. Chip leader raised from early position and Dingo went all in with AK. The all-in put the pressure on the chip leader - does he call and bust down from 70K + to 15K? I'm not sure whether i'd have done with a pair of 8's. He bust someone out shortly after when he rivered a King with K2 against QQ all in, so it was definately his day.

VERY nice job dingo! :)
Congrats on the final table - it sounds like you made the right play with that AK too - like dorkus said "don't be results orientated"
You play to win, and pushing was probably the right move.
Again congrats!

thanks for your support everyone!! it was cool to know that i had fans railbirding!! I'm semi-satisfied with my performance, The more I think about it, I question the other guy's play of calling off 90% of his chips at the final table of a tourney like that with 8/8. I had come over the top a few times already though so I had a loose image, but still, coinflip for all ur chips a the FT as a bigstack? I wouldnt have called an all in with 8/8 there.

I thoroughly enjoyed playing the tournament tho, got to put a few moves on and play thinking man's poker. It's refreshing not to play with donkeys you know, you really gotta think. I only really had 1 major suckout, I went for a blind steal with 9/10s, got re-raised by BB who had done this multiple times before, so I put him on a re-steal and moved in on him, called by AQ but I sucked out with a 9 on the river to double up. It really was fun, I got into to it soooo much.

Bad part is that I "only" got 900 bucks for 7th place finish, if I could have lasted a little longer I could have got up around 2k for 3rd, up to 6500 for first. That woulda helped out a lot in life right now, I'm kinda mad at myself for risking it all with AK like that when the pay scale escalates so much and a few grand would really help me out where Im at in life right now, but oh well, I play to win, took my shot with AK and lost theh flip, life goes on. It was fun, I think Ill try again tonight.

Later all

Unless your opponent tells you what they've got, you'll have to take a chance. I'm sure we've all played tournements where you dont see a playable hand for 40 - 50 hands - how long do you think you would have survived playing tight, waiting for a bigger hand than AK? Maybe the next hand you'd have got would have been AA? You'll never know. I think you played fine - i imagine you caught one or 2 earlier! You were right, calling with 88 was a brave/stupid move - you would have been happy if he called with AQ wouldn't you (at least until the inevitable Q arrived). 6th place didn't pay much more than 7th - the people that win these final tables are the ones that come over the top with hands like AK.
