You never showed the outcome. Also nothing wrong there not betting river. Most you would've got called was maybe smaller bet. Looks like he was on a flushdraw and missed or he had a smaller pp. Could've even had QQ or JJ and such.

Villain was intent on bluffing you off your hand. Would be problematic if he had AK or AJ, but he likely would have bet on the river instead of checking. I would put a small blocking bet on the river to see if he would be persuaded to put in one last raise that you could call off.

Overall I don't feel great about this kind of hand as you're putting a large portion of your stack at risk with the hope that your top pair holds. It doesn't work out very well for me over a number of hands and here the pot just seems way too bloated for the one top pair. You don't have control of what the villain is doing though so you either take your chances or fold and be exploited by his bluffs.

I think given the villain's stats you can probably correctly put him on a very wide range and not very strong cards.

never bet the river in that situation, what are you imagining him calling with A-10 maybe?? chances are slim that is what he is holding, AQ is a terrible hand in that instance because he could have AK there many times, especially with a 3bet OOP like that. You dont bet top pair on the river when the pot is that big already, you bet top pair when the pot is small and he might be holding 2nd pair or be curious enough to call a small bet on river. You had enough invested there, pot was plenty big. you evenbet a little there and he can come over the top and put you all in, now what are you going to do? maybe he had AJ and was trapping, the win was big enough.
