I prefer tournaments with the fewest possible players. It's what has given me the best results, although I don't dislike playing tournaments with a lot of players.

I like to play tournaments with a lot of players, mostly I play MTT NL Holdem, where there are a lot of people and a lot of prizes, even if they are freerolls.

I like to play big fields, I find I lose less on small fields. But as a recreational game I play what I like the most.

I generally prefer larger mtt's. However I have been meaning to mix some smaller ones in too. It can get demoralizing not hitting any final tables for a while.

That being said it is easier to make the bubble when getting closer to it in larger tournaments as the bubble can be very slow in smaller tournaments. It is easier to come across bad players in larger tournaments I feel.
