Hey guys, yesterday i was playing an turbo MTT.
In the late stage, after folding a lot of hands i get KQo in UTG
I had 9bb and i didnr know if i shove or fold
What would you do?
I was already ITM and there was like 140-200 players left

If 9bb is a fairly big part of effective stack, especially CO - BB stacks, and it's common for BB to take dead money by default, then you could try to shove. But as you might think, it's the worst spot to push with a hand like that.

I almost always shove this hand, but it also depends on the value of the tournament. It's just that with such a hand you can always face a weak ace and be knocked out of the tournament

Usually a shove, but deep in, waiting to climb a few more pay brackets can be worth it too. I know 10bb is the fold/shove zone, but when blinds/antes are huge, I sometimes wait down to 6bb and a better spot than UTG

If it was a full 9 player table, then KQo UTG for 9 bigs is a little marginal but still fine. If you were much deeper than that, it would be a fold though.

I think if you were UTG+1 it might be a fold but because you are about to post your blind future game consideration forces you looser making it a marginal shove?

Depends on how close to a payout jump you are and how big the payout jump is. More often than not, I will fold it UTG on a 9-player table

It depends a lot on whether or not there'll be ANTE...
According to some ICM calculations, if don't have ANTEs, it's recommended to fold (although I still think the shove is good if you are a long way from the final table). Now, with any ANTE in play, however small, it's always a push.

Note that at a 9 players table, UTG+1 is the same as UTG.

KQ off is usually a fold but if I was near the bottom of the leaderboard with not much chance of reaching a pay jump without a double up I would consider a shove.

Usually you’ll get worst results then positives results through experience.

So I guess the answer is No fold if it’s suited maybe depending what kinda table your sitting at

Good day!
I think this is always a first position push.
Good luck!
