Jeff,

I have often wondered and would like your insight into multi-day tournaments. On day one, other than getting the "bag and tag", what is your mindset/strategy through the rebuy period and once that is done what do your keep in mind for the rest of day 1's?

Just play my game and try to make good decisions. As far as re entering, The softer the field, the more I feel inclined to gamble to build a big stack or re enter.

After re entry is over. Make a small adjustment and note which players are tightening up. Try to eat a medium sized and healthy meal on dinner break. Stay focused and don't tighten up and just try to find a bag during the last level of play. Play to win and accumulate.

Jeff,
First 100 sub to your youtube channel here. With the stack size increases at the wsop this year for the 1k-1.5k events to 20k-40k, what sort of adjustments should players be making in early rounds with 200 300 400 bb stacks? What things might we study to get us tunned for this deeper stack play?

Thanks,
Bobbyb900

Though it's a rarity , it has and does happen. What do you do if you're late in a tournament, totally card dead and the table is full of maniacs making plays before you can even look at your cards. Do you allow yourself to blind out or?

It hurts but you can't force it vs people that don't fold. If you blind down to 5bbs, then so be it. Wait for profitable times to shove your short stack. Patience is just as key as being aggressive when you have a big stack.

Hi Jeff,

I'm curious, are you a sponsored pro on ACR? or do you have a rake back deal etc. Are there other sponsored pro's on ACR?

Yes. I have a deal with ACR to promote the site. The other sponsored pro is Thomas Cannuli. You can find us playing online or at the $5,000 Live Cage events in Costa Rica.

At the end of last year WSOP, you posted a video talking about quitting.

Were you serious?
If so, what changed your mind?

Yes, every man has his breaking point. You have to ask yourself, "Is the juice worth the squeeze?" I also considered the amount of pain and rage I feel every time I lose a tournament vs the pleasure of chopping or winning a tournament.

I started vloging again mainly because of how many messages and emails I got from viewers that missed my content.

What limits and tournaments do you suggest beginners start with?

The lowest buy-ins possible online or live. As you establish that you are a winning player at the lowest levels, then you can slowly move up as you practice good bankroll management.

The low buy ins to play very hard because they all turbo and a lot of people are all in very often in this situation is always to survive?

That is fine. Just play better shoving and calling ranges than your opponents and in the long run you will profit.

Hello Jeff --- Did your run in the Main Event put you at break even $$ for the losses sustained from buy-ins during WSOP?

What happened in the Venom? I was going to virtual rail - looked - and you were OUT!

Love your vLog "What's He Reppin"? with the facial expressions is the best!

What adjustments, do you suggest for early stage play in online micro events with long re-buy periods - where a high number of players are maniac shoving loose VERY often? Loosen up and play along, or tighten up and risk being short stack, having to deal with loose aggro with 3-4x larger stacks?
Shove-rebuy-shove-rebuy - luck into a double/triple up -- taints the game and is difficult to deal with.

Thanks for all your efforts to share knowledge and humor. Hi Clyde!

If you ever need any video editing or graphic assistance/help hit me up. That is my profession.

My main event cash did not put me at breakeven for the series unfortunately.

Adjust to your opponent. If they are loose, loosen up. If they are tight, tighten up your ranges.

I may need some editing help in the near future and I will keep you in mind.

Hello CardsChat!

I have been a professional tournament player for 14 years. 2.5 years ago I started my own YouTube channel youtube.com/c/JeffBoski to document tournament poker in Las Vegas. Many of my vlogs have been controversial, but I feel that is the best way to show the realness of my unique occupation. I have visited fine steak houses, massage parlors, strip clubs and many casinos in the 300+ vlogs I have uploaded.

I have longstanding accounts on Pocketfives and Twoplustwo but I am new to this forum. Feel free to Ask Me Anything!

-Jeff
hi Jeff i am a big fan of your blogs and from watching them i have learnt some ( not enough) to improve my game. I am a fish and i know this but the only way to improve is to watch and study also play a bit.
I keep seeing things about bots playing online how does this effect you ?

Big-field variance fests

Hey Jeff, I've played with you a few times in some low buy-in tourneys on ACR, and I was wondering if you could give some advice. It seems like most of the time I finish in the top 10 or 15% of the tourneys i play in if I dont get knocked out early. I know i should be more aggro/fearless late in the tourneys, but after being card dead or start blinding down I know im going to have to start making some moves. The problem is, for around the last year it seems like no matter what I do, when I start trying to steal in what seems like good spots where guys are folding bb/steal like 80%+, i run into the top part of their range or get called down with bottom pair after raising 3-3.5X to steal from LP. Can you give me any advice? I've seen your results on ACR, and it's really impressive. I know it takes a lot of work to get to your level, and hopefully you can give some insight on how to finish more towards the top of the prize pool intead of just min-cashing all the time.

Hi Jeff,

Just joined CC, great to see you're on here. Hope you are running well!

How is your overall online tourney success ratio compared to live? How do you rate your level when you were at the peak of your poker success to these day?

I'm personally in a slump, and feel my good days are behind me. I have a good feel for the game, but maybe need to work on my patience.

Tournaments are higher variance than you can fathom. It is tough to get a grasp on how well you are playing and/or running in a small sample size.

You have to been mentally focused and emotionally balanced day in and day out to succeed in the long run.

If you don't love playing, then don't force yourself or you will hate poker even more when you do lose.

Good luck!
