I didn't like it. Waste of time in compare with online. And me as online player, I had no reads on opponents. Maybe just them on me

I have played live cash games, but never a tourny. I would like someday to give it a try. But even with cash games, i like playing online better.

I have played many live tournaments. For me the biggest considerations are the guarantee and the structure. I don't want to waste time driving to a tournament with no or a low guarantee also I don't want to drive to a "flipament". Luckily in Florida there are plenty of multi-flight tournaments with 100k plus guarantees vs low buy-ins sometimes $100 sometimes $150, $200,$350 depending on who is running it. Many of these tournaments are really deep stacked to start as well with 20 min or 30 min levals on day one and 30 or 40 min levals on day 2 (final day) Also when the staff is experienced at running and dealing tournaments it makes a huge difference. In FL I think the Hardrocks in Tampa and Hollywood, The Isle in Pompano beach and Bestbet in Jacksonville all do a super job running tournaments. The Daytona Beach Kennel club also is a great option when the Heartland Poker Tour makes a stop there. The wsop circuit also makes a stop at the West Palm Kennel club but I have not been there but I am sure that is probably a good tournament series as well.

When you run hot in live poker its satisfaction to see others sad angry faces . But to bad always run into cooler kid hands, mostly drunk donkeys throwing chips here and there. Best success of my way 3rd place in local sports bar.

I 've played few, and i can say it's different game completly, there is not so much hands to be played, you will barely see a free card, you can chat with your "enemies" which is good, but you are creating your image on live much more then you are doing online, you need to find balance in your head because some players are tending to have a lot of re evolution of hands which can take a few mins...you need to keep calm and wait for your chance.....

I read the answers to those players who have played in live tournaments. I have not been possible, for 5 years at all played live. I guess I do not like this tournament. All the same it would be better to play online.

Yes I have played live plenty of times. Like anything, I have had my good and bad experiences. I have played in little hole in the wall card rooms in California, and have played in some nicer places in Nevada. I look for a good structure and a room I feel comfortable in.. Everyone is different in terms of what they prefer or are fond of. I suggest you play live when you get the chance to. It's very fun, but you can be a little nervous your 1st time playing live, I know I was.. My hands were shanking when I went to raise for the first time, and REALLY were shaking after winning my 1st pot and trying to stack the chips.. I look back and laugh at myself now. One tip of advice for playing live: familiarize yourself with keeping track of how much goes into the pot, It's not like on-line where it displays how much has gone into any pot... You have to be paying more attention when playing live. Hope you have a good experience and some good luck on your first trip.

Playing in Live tournaments is a blast! I love it! I am always geared to have a good time win or lose. I think it is fun to try and figure out peoples tells. Some of the players I have come across are pretty interesting too. I will never forget when I played in Reno and sat next to a woman who looked like Mrs. Pea**** from the game CLUE. The flowing blue dress and large plumed hat and not to mention the 3 foot cigarette in a long back filter. She was a really good player and came in 4th place for 3k. Her image was very intimidating to some players.

Something everyone should do. Lot slower, and more things to keep track of. A lot different than online, but same best practices apply... just need to be prepared for a long day.

I prefer playing live to online. I don't have a hud so it is easier to keep track of players. I live in Florida so there are five poker rooms with in 45 min of my apartment. They need to be deepstacked or have a decent blind structure otherwise the antes and blinds just turn them into a shove fold/ flip em towards the bubble. Also I like chopping. ACR doesn't have that and it is ridiculous. If we are all equal stacked and want to chop up the pot and not waste another couple of hours it is a huge convenience. Maybe I am just old school and like to be able to see my opponents but I prefer live to online in every aspect except it can potentially cut down on your earnings because you can't multitable.

I've only played with friends but cash , I would love to participate in a big tournament live online and also because I've only played micro buy-in tournaments

I prefer playing live. A lot easier to play distraction free, and a bit easier for me to get a feel for the game and players.

Ive started to play Live NL Holdem this month which is also a League where best 3 players win money prize and direct seat at main even with buy-in of lets say 150 € aprox. So far i played 2 tournys, first was with rebuy 56 players / finished 49 - and second knockout where from 50 players i finished in 19 place. So far im somwhere in the middle of league which is not bad for my first real competition. Its a wonderful experience and time to expand my skill and make better strategy. Tournys will be held till 16. December then comes the Main Event which i hope i will find myself participating. And yes im starting to like live Tournaments.

It's more fun than online but it's a big variance when you play only one live tournament, not like online when you play many :D

Yes,

I played in many live tournaments!!

I have played in Las Vegas casinos, more recently, in PARX and Atlantic City. I had 3 wins in 4 days at the Bally's AC. I enjoyed the experiences and the WINS!!!!
