Tommorow i am going to play the biggest tourney of my life.
it is a special tourney with 700$ buy in and price pool of 1.2 million on my site.
i know i have only 40 buy ins but i am thinking of giving it a shot.
i have mostly played cash games and have played tourneys and took down some but they were with less fields and less blind levels.
it will have blind level of 16 minutes and a field of 800+.
the only problem i will have how would i build my stack in early levels where players limp a lot and call your iso raises and open raises due to no icm pressure in early levels.
i exploit that perfectly in deep stages ;)!
So What special Advice up your sleeve will you give me for Taking it down :)!
Thanks.

One thing that you should take into account is that the level in online tourneys is much higher than in live tourneys. I play online mostly small-stakes (3-10$ buy-in tourneys) and I see much less limpers than in 100-200$ live tourneys, so don't count on many limpers in the early levels. You will see though many open-raises but mostly for the right reasons. good luck!

Good luck and may you bring it down:)

I personally have played the 530 buy in on pokerstars once.

I would advice you not to go crazy in the early stages, because they call you with junk in position of you.
In position you can go ballistics.

These players know what they are doing up there, so play very attentive and make notes in the early stages.

Go get 'em:wink:

Best of luck to you. The main thing is to treat it like any other tournament you’ve played in and forget about the high buy in. If you play scared you will not do as well.

Hope to see a post from you saying you killed it !

NO. 100% stick to your game and ignore the money until you get close ITM.

If you are really nervous then pretend it is a $20 tournament.

I always focus on getting to the final table.

I want to slap your hand for breaking your bankroll rules. But I want to commend you for taking the risk!

Good luck !

Should i play Supertight untill late reg and rebuy period ends in like 1 hour.
Then loosen up a bit?

How many big blinds do you start with?
When blinds go up every 16mins it sounds like a really slow tournament.

My general advice would be, since its a slow structure, play tight in early stages, you can't win a lot of chips when the blinds are small, so try to get it in good with big hands in the early stages.
Loosen up when going towards the bubble, or keep it tight when your stack is getting slim at that time.

And than simply ship it, good luck! :)

Edit:
Should i play Supertight untill late reg and rebuy period ends in like 1 hour.
Then loosen up a bit?
What do you mean by rebuy period? Are people able to re-enter when they bust or rebuy and add up to their stack during a period of time?
Expect players to be shoving and playing looser when they are able to rebuy.

Hi, that sounds like nice blind structure, how deep are you playing?
My advice is to play as if you always play this kind of tournament, and as if you have won a few, treat as if this is what you do, and then play with this silent confidence.
As for tactics, well your opponents image vs yours and how they play will dictate a lot of the early action, just remember you can't win a tournament in the 1st couple of levels but you can sure lose in them, good luck and let us know how it works out,

GL my friend. Early on in a bit field tight is right. Get a good table and some chips to work with. Hope you take it down!

Wow, congratulations! I'm just building my bank roll with micro stakes and free rolls but I commend your confidence! I get nervous playing a $3 buy-in lol, but it's all part of the process I think.

Finishing in the money is a success in my books. That hand looks unreal!!! 2 pocket rockets and the back door flush... that's a wild one.

Well done!
