I'd go up to 5% of your total bankroll

So something close to $2,50.

A winning tournament player or not? If not, then maybe you should play 2x25 or 1x50 and hope for the best.

It depends on what level you are a player. Better to have 200 buy-ins. I would advise starting with SNG 0.25 $ 45-90-max

I like the idea of 100 buy-ins. It gives you a good margin to play without feeling that you are risking a large part of your money. In another thread we talked about what it takes to win a tournament, and it doesn't reach just with skill, you also need luck. So 100 bullets waiting for some luck to accompany you seems good to me.

It depends on your goals and situation. Are you willing and able to deposit again? Then the money only need to last until your next paycheck maybe, so make a budget. If you want to play 5 events per week, you can buy in for 2-3$. If you cash in some, you can deposit less or not at all next month. Otherwise deposit another 50$ on next paycheck.

Or are you determined, that this is going to be your bankroll, you think you are a wining player, and it should grow from here? Then follow the advice of 100 times the buyin. There are not many 0,5$ events though, so look to play some 0,25$ multi table SnGs. If it go well, start to mix in some 1$ multi table SnGs.

The multi table SnGs are nice, because they are raked lower. For the 0,25$ pokerstars keep 8% of the buyin, for 1$ its 9%, but if you play tournaments its 11%. These differences might seem small, but they matter in the long run.

If it's your first deposit ever on poker keep in mind that it is likely you will lose it all. $50 is so little you can lose it in a single day by playing up to $2.5 how other suggested.
Your best chance with $50 would be playing 0.25 and 0.50 sit and goes, get used to them and grind them to.. alot more than 50.. $300-500 you could start playing regular mtts

I think it is permissible to spend no more than 1-2% of your bankroll. That is, in your case you can play in tournaments with a buy-in of no more than $ 1.

I think that with your bankroll the best option would be SnG with buy-ins of 0.25$ and 0.50$.

If you play on Pokerstars, I'd suggest the 0,55 KO's. For learning purposes you could add some 0,10$ SnG (360 players). If you manage to keep your bankroll stable or even increase it, give it a shot to some 1,10 tourneys. The 1$ KO SnG (36 players) is fun as well, but only 500 starting chips, so you need some luck at the start.

Good luck!

Hello! I think in order to play MTT, you must have a sufficiently large bankroll, about 200 buy-ins. If you have $ 50, the best option is to play mtsng for 25 cents, or try a short-stack cash game.

If you dont mind depositing again if needed play $1.00 tournaments. With your cashes you should have at least a chance to play 80 games or more and then you could reevaluate if you need to reload. It also depends on the amount of players in the tournaments you are playing. If they are about 100 you would be ok at that level If they have 1500 or more you are very likely to have to reload you account or play something like 0.25 or .50 tournament.

That's all good and well but if he hasn't deposited how's he going to cash out if he does build a bankroll via freerolls?

Hes already deposited so dont worry with the freerolls idea. They can be used to pass time and provide a chance for risk free bankroll increases.

100% agree with the 50c tournaments and the occasional $1 games. I think $1.5 - $2.5 sng's are fine as well seeing as there is much less variance in these. I played 1.5 sng's on ACR very profitably multiple times - I am spending most my time today working on my MTT game and I owe lots of my early MTT strategy to my SNG experience - dont let them squeeze by unless you are specifically targeting MTTs.

To be profitable,if you play MTT, you have to have volume, playing lots of them. 0.50$ -1$ it’s only what you should play, to try keep your bankroll healthy.

I newer play with bi <1$ exept freerolls) But if you have problems with reinvest 50$ after busting your br I think best for you to play satellites or SnGs with bi ~0.25 and to play lot of freerolls.

Micro-stakes, MTT that are in the micro to small range, and make sure to mix in some SnG. Each one has different variance and strategy.

The least possible

If I deposited 50$ how is the range of buy ins that I should enter if I am a tournament player?

I would play the maximum buy-ins of up to $ 1.10 as I won I would increase the buy-ins would go up to $ 2.20 go to the next successive to higher values, I know that is hard to contain more you need to counter be not your bankroll goes into space

On correct of course 1%, i.e. $0.55. If not on the bankroll you can play anything, if you are sure that you will take out.

at least 100 buy-ins for tournaments, but better still 150-200 buy-ins. For cash games, 20-30 buy-ins would be enough, but in tournaments the dispersion is higher

Less than a dollar. you want to have roughly 100 buy ins to tournaments you decide to play for proper bankroll management. Definitely don't play anything over 1.00, and that is still pushing it you should probably play in between .25 and .50 to maximize your said bankroll. If my bankroll ever gets that low I play .40 SNG on 888 and .50 MTTs. Don't over play your bankroll or you will just end up losing it all quickly.
