888poker XL qualifier tourney.. What style to adopt??

888poker is back with XL qualifier tourney.
It is turbo style tourney. Blinds increases at 4 mins. Starting stack 3000. Ante start from beginning. Starting SB and BBs are 25-50.
Payout up to 80th place. First 17een would get a ticket worth 160 dollars.

Now as It is a fast pace tourney we can not play in a conservative manner. We should focus on aggression.
But the key point is If we play aggressive there are huge chances of getting out.
If we play conservative, we can move deep in the tourney but again once blinds pass through the range of 5000-10000 we can not survive against big stack.

Now here the Luck play an important role.

So what should we do to get lucky?

Or these types of tourney are like Hit or Miss where luck rules over skills?

It's a turbo with a very aggressive structure by the sounds of things, so the edge will be much smaller, i.e. less skill, more luck. But there are ways you can make the most of the edge you do have. Use a nash chart and know when is good to shove and look into reshove situations, i.e. when is best to shove over a raise when you have 12-22 BBs or so. Think about how your hand plays v their calling range and how much fold equity you have.

Yeah agree with a lot of what JohnyBoy says. The structure will favour aggression and good push fold decisions.

sadly you need luck in this type of tournaments. raise, fold, shove whit a good hand in flop. if you're lucky and get a good stack (over 15bb) then you have to take some caution.

The problem is that when blinds keeps going up and 3-4 players find themselves in short stack position they just go all in blindly so even if we have AA and we shove ,there are huge chances of getting out by 2 7 etc or some magical variance. LOL.
