Rake trap or beatable?
Does anyone have a reasonable sample size on this kind of tourney? Skillwise these tourneys are definitely beatable, but I was wondering if it's worth your time given the fast structure and rake.

I'm looking to transition from big MTTs into smaller SNGs to put in some more volume. Would be great to hear some opinions on this :)

It is beatable I do not have data though. I prefer one table turbos and hypers.

If you are looking for deeper game there is non turbo 45 & 90 man. Those have a lot more play and is great for learning with.

I have played a fair amount of the multitable turbo SnGs on Stars, and I think, the structure is a bit to fast. Blind intervals are the same 5 minutes as in turbo tournaments, but the blinds increase in larger increments, so in reality its faster, and stacks get even shorter.

Moreover they are also very reg infested, when you climb the stakes a bit. This goes both for the turbo variety and the regular speed ones, which is mainly the 4,5$ 36-180 man. I played 5 of those last night, and there was on average less than one fish per table in the midst of this amazing poker boom. It honestly felt like, I was pouring my money into the toilet, when I could have been sitting in cash games full of fish.

I dont have enough sample in any of these tournaments to provide really solid data. I am profitable in the 2,5$ 180 man turbo, but this is mainly because, I have won one of them. On the other hand I am sitting on a loss in the 3,5$ 45 man. For me the best value is the 5$ 90 man bounty builder. This is also a turbo, but the inclusion of bounties attract more recreational players. It also speeds up action, which tend to keep the average stack size deeper.

Yeah would agree that on average bounties are probably the softest. Although I feel like I'm not ready to play those atm since I have only studied 'normal' tournies.

The fish:reg ratio is interesting though. Some of them ($3.50 R+A for example) seem so incredibly soft, while some others like the $4.50 you mentioned or the $7 freezeout seem a bit tougher (relative to MTTs that is).

Think big MTTs are probably the softest at this moment (idk about cash, since I'm not a cash game player), but I'm uncertain if the increased volume I can put in with turbos would make up for that. Thoughts?

Oh completely agree that the regular speed tournies give a lot more room for playing. But they also take longer so you can put in less volume. Interesting to see how the trade-off is between those.

I think for now I'll probably register in 1 or 2 deeper MTTs and play the turbos on the side. See how we go from there once we build up a decent sample (5k tourneys?).
