oops

ke1fer said:
this is probably a common occourance, how many times have yuo seen someone bet big on 3 of a kind only to lose to a full house.

I'm sorry. In an attempt to try to create a bit of humor out of my disappointment, I was a bit obscure.

The ten on the river made me the best full house possible, just not good enough.

Welcome to poker!! I've had some bad ones myself lately. Most recent is calling an all in after a small raise prior to the flop. I have Q8, flop comes 88Q. Opponent goes all in, I call -- low and behold - pocket Q's for the lower full house. Bad beats are part of the game.

The best one I was ever involved with was two straight flushes.I had the high end and he had the low end. He couldn't see any possible way he could lose. He would have bet his wife and/or house on it. It was great.

just sit out a few hands, take a break and don't let it get to you

the hand that made me quit playing at pacific was a NL game where I had QQ and was beat by Q6s, when the guy caught two runners to make an 8 high straight on the river. After calling every bet I made. Each bet was about $5 in a $50 buy in game.

Kind of a threadjack, but did anyone see Chris Ferguson get hammered with pocket aces against A9 offsuit tonight on the WPT Invitational? The winner made a straight on the river with 2 possible outs. He was totally a man about it when he lost though. He said, "I've dealt out some bad beats in my time, so its only fair." What a good sport, my head would have assplode.

What sounds like a bad beat online, sounds like money rolling in at the casino (unless in a tourney). Bad beat jackpot pays off alot more than that hand would of. So wish for a bad beat when in a casino, lol.

Mine was at paradise final 2 tables. Me vs chip lead. I have 80k chips and he has 200k. I get pp 5s and call the blind. No one raises, sb folds and bb checks. flop comes j-5-5. Im on 7th heaven. I bet a reasonable amount, just enough not to scare anyone off. Everyone folds and this guy calls. 8 on the turn. I check to make him think I was trying to steal the pot on the flop and he all ins, YES! I call and he turns over 8-8, HAHAHAHA GOT YOU! He says NH and I say a big TY! I could feel myself virtually reach out and grab my sweet 160k pot when you know what happens on the river. My worst beat ever.

Haha, you should have seen what my friend tried once. He has like K-Q, and the flop comes 4-4-2. He tries to bluff at it and buy it, and gets one caller. Next card is a K, so he makes a bet, and the other guy calls. Last card is another King, giving him King full of 4's..he goes all-in..the guy had pocket 4's...he had flopped 4 of a kind. My friend picked the worst time to bluff at a pot..and then actually got something...making it even worse.

Also, the other day on poker stars during a tourney.....3 people were all-in pre flop....they had JJ, QQ, and KK....flop comes w/ a J and a Q....the guy with Kings was pissed....haha, it was hilarious.

Well,

I have lost to a straight flush before. And let me tell you I was't happy.

But, it sure beats the heck out of losing to some guy with J4 off who calls a 3x Pot bet Preflop.
