Raise before the flop and re raise after the flop. As played I am probably folding this.

well thats apparently what I should have done, rest of the hand is I call and he flips over a5 of clubs, looking for club and catches. My question is, is there any way you can get around this?

He already answered your question. There is no way he is in this hand if you either raise before the flop or reraise the flop, which you should definately have done without a doubt.
