A little more info we are about 1:15 in, so about an hour from the money both players are well above average.

It's hard to tell from the post, but does villian have position on you?

He's also the large stack at the table and could be pushing around the table playing loose aggressive but since you have no reads I assume and normal/decent player. With that assumption I fold. The best you probably are is in a coin flip against 2 over cards with a bigger pocket pair a strong possibility.

Not worth it at this point. We're under no pressure and no need to take the risk.

Now if he has been loose aggressive and a table bully, reraising alot, etc. I'd shove back beliveing I'm probably ahead of his range.

I apologize it is a bit confusing, he is on the button, so yes he has postion.

His raise make it 1250 more into a 3250 pot and based on the size of the bet I figured he did have a top pair, AA or KK since he is begging me to call (2.5:1 PO). I know everyone always thinks the other person has it but that is a very small raise considering I was no low stack, maybe I should have considered a wider variety of hands since I had no information.

When I made my play I thought it was correct no doubt but now not so sure.

I have 9000 chips at this point(if i fold) and need to put in 1250 more, and like I said, with such a small raise he is giving me almost too good of odds to fold this, and I felt he had AA or KK.

Against AA or KK, i think you have proper implied odds to call and hope to flop a set, which should double you up. He may also have AK and them this will make for interesting post-flop play.

Based on the new info, call this, it may be a steal attempt.

Anyway, you have to call this for respect. If you fold to such a small reraise, you should expect to be bullied on most of your raises later on.

Well as I said, I put him on AA or KK, and given the pot size figured if i hit (8:1) im getting 10:1 and called hit bet. Honestly if I thought he might have AK(say 30% AK70% AA or KK), this should probably be fold since if I hit and he doesnt I will probably not double up(although a good sized cont bet is probably on his part so still get say 5:1). With that said, that is a rather small bet with AK, not a hand you want to be giving such good odds on.

As it happened I called, flop J 10 4 rainbow, I checked he went all in and bitched about it for 10 minutes.
