Kay this is my first hand-history post for me. Be gentle, folks, but definitely feel free to rip the hand apart and put it back together for me. Was this a bad play with a lucky flop, or did I actually play this one well for a change?

Since it was a play money table, it is hard to guage much. There was too much limping all around, and the only real question is "would you have folded if the button raised?", or "if anyone raised?"

Most here might suggest you should fold there. In this particular case, no one else was making a stab at the pot, so your raise is not without merit, but you should know that so many callers at that point suggest very inexperienced play. You should realize it was a semibluff at best.

On the flop, with that monster hit, I would think a better, tho less profitable move would be all in. Better in that you do not want to let anyone else catch up cheaply. After the river ace, another ace, or Q becomes seriously problematic.

You could have so been counterfitted.

All that said, I should qualify that with this fact. I ain't won diddly lately.

Lots of limpers, nothing wrong with trying to steal here once in a while.

Basically raise more on the flop so your opponents are making a mistake to be calling it with a flush or str8 draw. The A on the river reduced your hand to a pair of nines which is a disaster for you. Any Q or A has you beat (as I am sure you know newbs love to play A rag). Of course if anyone was chasing the flush draw (which they had the odds to do) you are toast.

Try to leave off the results next time Lana, it will get you better non results oriented replies.

okee i won't post the results next time. This was my first grouping of handhistories posted, so forgive the minor taux-pas.

And to answer the other criticism, this was a Pot Limit table (yes I know, I was surprised too... not sure how I ended up there, but I decided to shake things up a bit with new gameplay) so my raises were as high as they would go. To all extents and purposes I agree with you strategically, but I was limited by what the table would allow.

Minor edit here: The raises were originally as high as they would allow (preflop, and close to it postflop) so yes, I guess on the postflop reraise and turn i might have raised more.
