Hey guys, can we please discuss some hands and spots that are tougher.
Most of them are clearly near the bubble, near pay jumps, final table and ofc which imply bounties.
So, I will post now a hand I just played near the bubble in the 8.80$ Voyage on 888.
I am on seat 5, burn_darius, we are about 8 or 9 players to the money (min cashes are pretty big on 888). I have no idea what to do here, although the easy line would be FOLD, ofc. What do you guys think? Is it a fold and just wait the bubble? When he shoves the turn, i just lose it. I put of specifically AQ without a heart, but still call. i'm a douche, i know, but I have the A of hearts. Does is matter? I guess it's a fold. Anyway. Sorry for the banter, but it's been a tough start of the year. Please leave some opinions. Thanks and gl.

Short stack is 9BB, you have about 30BB,

LJ opens with about 50BB. You are close to the bubble so you have high ICM pressure and they have moderate ICM pressure. You 3bet LJ calls. This gives an stack to pot ratio (SPR) of around 2.5, which means you will tend to be pot-committed with top pair top kicker type hands.

3betting was probably fine here.

Next decision is should we have cbet the flop and if so what sizing.

We have 2 overcards, the nut flush draw, and a backdoor gut shot draw on a 3flush board. So cbetting is fine, you cbet 1/3 pot, which is is fine given the SPR. If we get jammed on we probably call with 13 outs vs most pair hands and possibly being against hands that we are hugely dominating; mostly only worried about made flushes of which there aren't many in villains range.

We hit top pair top kicker on the turn. Given our range, will villain call a turn bet enough with worse? 3Bet calling ranges don't have a lot of flush draws that we are dominating. There might be pair with a heart combos that call turn and then crying call the river if they hit a dominated flush. We might get more value though from his pairs that would fold to a turn barrel and we also might induce a river bet by Xing the turn. If we bet turn and get raised I don't think we can fold given our equity.

So while I don't hate things as played, I think checking the turn might be optimal.

I hate reading unconverted hand histories, so I put your hand through the free hand converter here on CC :)

Preflop
3-betting AK is obviously fine, but by doing so we know already, we are putting our stack at risk. So if bubbling really bother you, why not just call here and keep the pot smaller?

Flop
Kind of same story. C-betting here is fine, but by doing so you know, you are putting your stack at risk. Because obviously you are not going to bet and then fold, if he comes over the top, when you have the nut flushdraw and two overs. So if not bubbling is a priority, then why not check back and take a free card? After all at this moment you only have A high and a draw, so its not like, this C-bet is for value.

Turn
You improve to top pair, and now he donk jam for around a pot sized bet. This is kind of gross, but I think, your hand is to strong to fold. With the nut draw, you are never drawing dead, and maybe once in a while you can be against a hand like another AK, which you are now freerolling.

Results
This runout is mostly just a bit of a cooler, but pot controlling preflop and on the flop is at least an option, we can consider in a spot like this. If you just call preflop rather than 3-bet, maybe you can actually get to showdown here without risking your entire stack. Or if he bomb the river putting you all in, maybe its possible to find a fold, when your draw has bricked and you "only" have top pair.

thanks for the feedback guys. really appreciate it. I think that I cannot fold there. Any way I would put it, it's hard and it's just too strong. I'm glad that my thought process was pretty good. GL
