Only about 1/2 hour into this. Deep starting stack 5000. I have limited read on Chris, the first guy to raise. He had not long joined the table. Obviously the outcome was a gf, but what do you think. At the time should I have called? If you need any more info let me know.

Here it is guys...

UTG raise and you're in middle position with K, Qo? It's a standard fold for me.

The play is quite the opposite for the reason t1riel pointed out.
this is far from a tight play IMO.

Late position I might call, dependent on previous bets, but it's a little early in the tourney to play a hand purely cause it's painted.

I fold here, because UTG raising is pretty much telling you that they have a better hand than KQo, and often are dominating it. Some people would call here because they have position on the initial raiser. I might actually be more likely to call this raise with 89s (although in this position I wouldn't) because I'm much less likely to be dominated and I do have that positional advantage. But then there are those people to act after you that become more likely to call if you call, and then they'll have position on you. So I think folding here is good and not too tight.

Good fold KQ is a great hand to become a victim with, Qxx or Kxx come on the flop and you could be in all sorts of bother.

On the button there's a case for calling but generally and usually in ep or mp it's a fold.

Really easy fold.

Unless UTG has been out of line with EP raises previously it would be an easy button fold too imo.
