Me and G-Man headed down to Rileys for the first ever $100 freezeout.
10,000 starting chips. 20 minute blind levels, blinds starting at 25/50.
The first hour and half was shambolic. NO hands whatsoever, i got AK and made a standard raise into a pre-flop family pot, everyone folded (i'd been tight) and i picked up the blinds. The table was loose, and more than a few donks were playing.
Just before the 2nd break, i got dealt K8 diamonds, i had around 5900 left and i decided to see a flop. I called for 800.
3 players.
Flop came: Qd - Jd - 4d
First player to act leads out for 800.
Second player folds.
It's on me. There was no doubt in my mind what i was going to do, i was happy to have picked up the pot right there but i put on a little acting show - making it look like i really didn't have anything.
All-in...
First player calls and shows 97 of diamonds. He's dead.
I know had around 13,700 in front of me. Average was 12,300.
5 hands in after the break, i picked up AA in the SB.
The guy next to me had been raising ANYONE who put in a small raise initially...
There was me, the guy next to me and UTG still in the pot.
I raised it 2000.
He raised all-in for 23,400.
UTG calls.
I call.
BB shows JJ
UTG shows AJ (nice)
I flip over the Rockets.
Flop comes: 9-9-A (BINGO - deck crippled)
After that hand, i was up to 35,000 in chips. And the average was around 16,000.
From then on it was just solid play, i eventually went out to an hand i mentioned in another thread, where my AQ couldnt out draw the chip leaders 77.
Was a good tournament, i really enjoyed it.
