Flat call in this situation.

While I think that I am beaten probably by quad 3 ( knowing PS lol) I can still warrant a call for the pot odds and still have enough chips left if I do lose the hand.

ReRaise - chances are a split pot or they have 2 pair or a set.

If by some sick Stars style they have quads they will probably push now :(

I really doubt he has quads, im guessing he has a set or a house at the very most. Id either Reraise or flat call but folding is not an option.

Full house seems unlikely, though possible. T3 should fold preflop, J3 *shouldn't* be calling the flop bet, maybe A3s, but I'd expect a shove on the river, though some tight/weak players might be afraid to do so. TT/JJ, maybe even AA for a boat are also possible, I guess.

At a $1 buyin I'd expect two pair more often here than a full house, as well as a tie with a straight. Can't fold, and if you flat call you're left with ~500 or so? I'd push all in.

i would expect to see two pair at this level alot

TBH i think at worst its a straight for a split

i would move all in here and then be sick when opponent turns over his boat :D

I think that you have to call. It is very possible that he has A3. Too many players play A rag but it is possible that he just hit a set on the river. But I don't think that you can lay this down. Even if you loose you will pick up information on him that might help you later,

OK. Since this is a $1 MTT, most poker logic in reading your opponent's hand goes out the window. It's almost like a freeroll.

You DO get weak, passive players playing these, so TT for the boat IS a possibilty. But 2 pair, TPWK, or another straight for the split are more likely. I'd say just flat call and, if you win, feel glad he put another 300 in there on the end.

But on another point regarding KQ pre-flop in these $1 games: With the blinds so low, 60 doesn't seem like much to these folks. Either fold or raise more. When I have a decent hand that I want to play, I raise to 100 from EP/MP when the blinds are 10/20 and 15/30. It seems like the only way to keep from getting 3 or more callers and you'll know the callers you DO get have decent holdings.

Either that or fold that KQ in such early position. The low blinds don't make the risk worth it so much. IMO, KQ in EP is a hand for later in the tourney when your reads are better.

I put him on either trips or 2 pair. I thought I had him beat so I shoved and this was the result............

So, I didn't really play it wrong? Being $1 tourney and all. :)

its easy to say afterward but i dont think the continuation bet on the flop was anyway near enough...did well to refrain from re-raising on the river i think.

Typical at this level. But I stand behind what I said about a bigger PF raise from EP. 80 or 100 would have had a better chance at getting J3o to fold.

Hmm, I didn't pay much attention to the early part of the hand originally.

But, along the lines of what Stick says, this early in during a low buyin tourney KQ is not a hand I want to play unless late position behind limpers, or open raising from late position.

Here you're in early position; too early for KQ at a full table, imo, and creating a big pot by raising preflop. Tables at this level you can expect to be weak and cally enough that you can expect multple callers, probably even if you raise to 100.

On the flop, you've missed, there are big cards that someone probably caught, you're out of position, there are three others in the hand with you. I'm checking this, and maybe chasing a small bet by someone.

He's made an awful call preflop in early position, made a bad call of your flop bet (though the flop bet was, as Vaq indicates, small), hit two pair on the turn when you hit your straight.

I still think your river shove is fine, but you got yourself trapped by your preflop and flop plays, plus your opponent's bad plays that turned into luck for him.

he just got lucky calling your raise with that thrash... better watch out for those players though, a lot of them creeping in small tournaments and SNG's! LOL
