I'm a bit confused to whether this is a cash game or a tournament.

Not the worst hand ever to push with your chip stack, it's just your position sucks. If you fold through you blinds your only left with 385 by the time you get to the button, but I've seen people come back from much worse. With the table knowing you just might be pushing light here before the blinds hit I think you are going to get called with a wider range of hands and almost all will be ahead. The best you could hope for would be against a small pair.

I would think to fild here and hope to double up with one more orbit to go even with a really small stack.

This is a fold and it's not even close.

"Kill Everyone," which is fairly loose in terms of push/fold, has you pushing with no worse than KJo here.

Moshman, referring specifically to 1-table SNGs, would have you pushing with no worse than the same here.

Both are excellent books and both basically say fold.

Lol

why is it when someone reads a book or two they become an expert?
We have 5 bb's UTG blinds are about to hit, we have QJs, why would we be folding here? You are taking examples from books and putting them into a situation where it doesn't apply

anyway, whatever, it's a very easy super duper standard shove, and it's not even close

I think pushing and folding are both reasonable options here. Anything else is just bad.

What speaks for folding is that the players to the left look really tight, and easy to steal from, even when you have 385.

What speaks against folding is if the blinds will go up very soon, and that the players to the right might be limping in front of you, and thus destroy your fold equity.

I don't see how folding can be a reasonable option here, sorry. Reads are irrelevant, folding and letting yourself blind out is bad.

I think QJs outranks KJo according to pokerstove anyway.

Not when you are SS'ed, he would of been hit with the blinds then he would be shoving with ATC.
I am guessing you would shove with any Ace, it could be up to 30 hands before you see any ace.

In my view it was a good shove, i've shoved with worse.

Well I think you are right here Kid plus something that I only recently realized is that a suited QJ actually plays better than A7o.

Sorry, misread the OP.

Everyone who corrected me was right.

This is a definite push recommended by the KE experts and Moshman.

(Not sure where my post came off as being from an "expert" but whatever.)

An UTG shove (the only serious move here) can also help with the next (BB) hand as it shows you are prepared to get your chips in. Players are less likely to try to steal with rubbish if they know you are in a shoving mood - you might get the whole table folding to you or a free flop. Look like fair game and people will nick your chips as a pasttime.

I ended up being down to 3.5 blinds and shoved from CO with K8...

BB called with 10 10. I was done.

Don't wait too long to shove.
