umm fold flop (to the raise), fold turn, fold river.

you have top pair no kicker, villain has bet into a relatively drawless flop, bet on a blank turn, and bet again when the one draw he could have had got there.

you're beating, umm, nothing.

edit: missed it's O8, that makes everything very marginally less horrible, but still horrible.

Can't add anything to above - Fold preflop, fold post flop, fold turn and fold river.

You called and scooped, right?

Hi, I'm new here. I don't claim to be an expert or anything but with 6 people already in I think this is a clear preflop fold. Maybe first to act on a loose table in late position with the blinds still low you might want to limp and hope to get lucky.

Having limped in the flop was actually okay for you. You're getting over 3 :1 to call the bet with some decent draws, I would call. The raise doesn't bother me much. He is very short stacked and could be pushing with a pretty wide range. In addition you're getting 8:1 or so to call.

The turn was another okay card, you picked up an OESD of which one side will give you a wheel. The problem with this card is it completes a low of which you only have the third nut low. 9 people saw the flop. The odds are some of them had an Ace. 2 liked the flop. It's highly likely at least 1 of them had an Ace. Also there is a flush draw on the board. Having gotten this far I would call the $3000.

The river sucks. It pairs the board, completes the flush, and doesn't help you at all. I would fold here.

^^^ i dont agree with folding pre flop, with all those limpers, your getting huge odds to chase a wheel. But give up on that flop

you'd need an Ace AND a three for a wheel, and you've got to suppose that with 5 players (20 cards) already called a fair few of those are out already. Other than that you're looking for 2 4's or 2 Q's and even then you're only on for half the pot. 300 chips wasted imo.

but with a wheel holding 2,4 you get huge implied odds imo. You find you are paid off by a lot of low hands and also aces up hands that people have after limping with 4 low cards. Based on how easy it is to get away from a flop that misses you, i think there is huge value in chasing a wheel here, from both the pot odds already served up and the implied odds.

A pretty mixed bag of responses???

The funny thing is, I could agree with all of u :D

However, my thoughts were, for what its worth

Preflop - I was 2nd biggest chip stack in tourny. I felt I was getting the odds to call. However, if I had less chips I would have folded.

Flop - I had position on Aussie and although I did`t have much I felt it was worth a call. The short stack goes all in for another 1000, Aussie calls (IMO, shows he could be probing with his last bet, or chasing low with say A2.) I have to call 1000. Looking back, I should have folded the flop - but poker is an easy game after the event :)

Turn - Because of the amount of chips I have invested now, a 5 is probably the worst card I could get!!! As pointed out, open ended draw. I call, hoping to hit my draw, but ideally hit the Ace.

River - I folded. As pointed out, I had ziltch!!! The other guy did not show

I think for me it is a lesson learnt.

IMO, where it all went wrong was on the flop. Taking everything into account, I would still have called preflop.

folds

This is why it's a fold p/f. Sometimes you think you have odds to call, but you get sucked in to thinking this when all you have is not a lot. Then on the flop you think again you have odds to call etc etc. Just fold p/f and certainly on the flop. The only way that hand would have paid of would be if you hit Q4 on the flop.
