Just wondering what you analytical-heads think of this situation.
This is late in the OFC freeroll, overall play is semi-tight and I've played a fairly tight aggressive game up til this point. I had started stealing blinds and pots and making a whole lot more moves at this stage of the tourney.

The only reads I have on him are that he's fairly tight, and somewhere in the middle in terms of aggressiveness. The thing is that I'd raised his and Itz_Me's blind several times because they just didn't fight back. I'm thinking either he's trying to fight back against my stealing and resteal, or I'm dominated. This is where I'm lacking in my game: an advanced player would be able to pin odds on certain types of hands and react based on what he thought the OP had. I just thought of it as either 33 vs overcards, or vs bigger pair.

Any thoughts?

Pretty standard fold.

We're either behind or coinflipping - not the sort of situation we want to be in. Even if it's possible he's restealing with something like JT, it's still only a coinflip.

I usually push/fold this pf from the button here, depending on the exact tourney situation and reads on the blinds. It's usually a push - and certainly if you're planning on calling a reraise from BB you should really have just pushed beforehand.

call in a coinflip situation getting about 2:1
or fold and wait for a better spot.
either way not a bad choice.... i'd lean toward calling though if I did NOT think he had a pair

huh? where'd you get that from, Dingo?

Results were that I folded, and he mucked.

The more I look at this HH, the more I realize how much of an easy fold this is. I posted this while still adrenalized from that tourney, and I think I was just running hands that 'coulda been' through my head. I still raise here almost every time, but after getting reraised, there is very little I could be ahead of, 22 or 3x being the only hands that I'm really dominating. The rest would be a gamble, so a fold is probably best.

Thanks for the input, fellas.

I tend to disagree... if you are going to make this raise you are almost obligated to call the extra push

The AQ comment was just a guess.

I had the same situation I think a little later on, only with pocket 7s. I raised 3x BB, atlgator reraised all in (about 20,000 chips I think). Well, instead of being smart and patient, I called. He held pocket 10's, I didn't improve and lost half my chips. That was the one hand that really did me in. I'm still mad at myself. :(

You made the right choice IMO, Chuck. Live to fight another day. :)

i would have folded them 33`s in the blink of an eye,,, they were really pushing things at my table thats why i changed my game plan, it was big raises or allins, they played just like freerollers at my table>> buck:hello:

let me put it this way... if you believe the opponet is pushing overcards, you HAVE to call.
