pot committed u have to call,
seeing how he didnt raise preflop he could easily have a weak ace, his range is quite wide so i think u have to call here

your bet sizing is horrible throughout the hand. what's the point of the tiny pf raise and tiny turn bet?

as played? meh, I probably call, enough horrible players at $4s will play weaker Aces like this.

stats/reads on villain would be nice.

Why not title it, "I didn't raise enough PF with a weak A from SB and am now OOP to two players that are calling me down."?

Seriously. PF play was horrible. AJo is not that strong, you're not looking to build the pot and invite action. Either raise like you intend to play the hand (in this case 900-1000) or just complete the SB and go from there.

C-bet the flop and establish the king. I'm iffy about the turn call (following the weak lead) and as played, I'd fold that river and get back in a hand later when I have a clue to where I'm at.

Don't know to much about him, that was my problem. My weak bets were because I was scared this late in the tourney and could easily fold a pair of aces if he had went all-in / bigger bet.

I decided that I don't need this to be a big pot, I was just fine with current pot size.

Post results after a few more replies.

And my play was semi-tight at the time. AJos is probably the worst hand I would play, but at these limits most people don't notice things like that until the final table.

Well no more replies so here:
I successfully established A on the turn, it just wasn't good that I did.

I'd not be against playing AJo, but in the SB I'd be more inclined just to complete. As stated though, if you're gonna raise you don't want to just sweeten the pot, you want people out. You say you wanted a small pot but you've already started making it bigger preflop.

Checking the missed flop OOP against 2 others is fine, imo. Villian may have taken your small turn bet as weakness and raised with nothing or a draw. But betting behind you on the river doesn't seem likely with nothing.

As played I'd call, expecting a A7/A9/77/99 but with enough of a chance that it's another single Ace to make the call maybe worthwhile. Folding the river isn't bad either though.

Edit: Looks like I typed my post while you were posting the results ...

Umm AJ os is a good hand, strong enough to raise a limper and the BB. But you have to raise bigger. Like 5X BB. And the turn and river looks like you had to pay him off.

a) your rasie pre was way too small, becasue at this level people will defend their blinds for so much (even if he did have a good hand ive seen players defend their bb/sb with 74 off)
b)i probably would have got allmy chips in afterwards becasue he called which may have indicated a weak ace or a low pocket and its just bad he had 77.
:)

Thanks for all the advice guys, I am fairly used to a standard 3x BB bet.

And that's fine if you are opening the pot for a raise. But if you are raise a pot that someone has limped into already, then you really need to move on to the 3xBB + 1BB/limper formula. Otherwise your bet sizing is hosed up and you're giving better odds to worse hands (especially in the case of 2+ limpers).

Also where was the continuation bet? If you are going to raise oop it doesnt matter if you have a,j or 7,5 when you raise out of position, You should be putting in a cbet on a raggy flop like that whatever. Then you would have known where you stood and saved chips
