This is an invitational freeroll, the only 3 players that are live at the table are the ones with over 100BB everyone else is in sit out, so this table is played 3 handed.
Here we still have like 2 hours of play until we reach the money places, this freeroll is a slow format tournament with levels that are 15 min long.

Prize poll is $500 with $70 for 1st and min cash is $0.44.

What do you guys do here? And why?

Well I don't know how long you are in the game already but it's a freeroll and the prizes are probably insignificant until the top10 or so.

In case MP+1 doesn't seem to be a nit, I'd happily call here with the Queens and hope to not see Kings or Aces. :geek:

Of course, in case you want to play this game more serious, you have to fold here since you are 150 BBs deep.

We have been playing for one and a half hours.

I have seen this pattern in recreational players, when they shove small or mid pairs because they don't know how to play then post flop if they do not hit.

I would have played the same way without regrets. It is never pleasant to lose against smaller pair, but that's what we are always after when playing poker, right? I mean, we love to be called by a dominated hand. Bad luck this time... sadly.
In freerolls, against one single unknown opponent, being deep as you were in this spot, I decided that I don't fold QQ or AK. Maybe even JJ, but that depends on previous observations. In your spot, playing 3-handed and facing a jam by a crazy guy, I would call without hesitation with JJ+, AK without blinking. TT and AQ only if the guy is really really crazy.

Good observation. I've also seen that quite a few times already.
