I apologize for the last thread title, just read the sticky.

The reads I had were:

Seat 2: Solid player
Seat 3: Hadn't played much lately

I am still learning Omaha, and have been following the advice <a href="http://casinogambling.about.com/cs/poker/a/omahahilo_2.htm", here</a>.

Feedback is appreciated

I'll disagree somewhat.

This is a hand that deserves one look. If you hit an ace, or a good heart draw or maybe the nut flush, then proceed. You could also see the turn cheap if you flopped a open ended str8. Else fold on the flop.

There is no low hand here, so the high hand essentially scoops. You have no play for low, so if the fop came low you would need to fold it.

The AA and the hearts make this worth a cheap look. Do NOT get married to this hand!

I agree with DJ here. I would see a flop with this hand also, but I have learned that in Omaha AA or KK is not as strong as people think unless you have suited or low cards (preferably both) to go with them. For this hand the flop need to contain an ace or 2 hearts to continue putting money in the flop. If there are 3 cards of one suit on the board there is almost always a flush and when a pair is on the board there is almost always at least trips. Here on the river there were 3 suited cards and a pair on the board. 2 pair will almost never win, easy fold on the river and pretty easy fold on the flop too. Of course another 5 or an ace gives you a full house so it might be worth a call if you think villan is making a standard continuation bet and might not have anything and you think the full house will get paid off if you hit it.

I could see certain spots where I'd want to see a flop with this hand, but this is not one of them because of the bad position and bad odds at our time of entering the pot.

If what you're looking for is an ace, then you're only going to be happy 2/17 of the time, and I don't think we make up 15BB the 2 times we actually hit. And it's not like a set of aces is that strong in Omaha.

On top of that, most of the cards you need to make a high hand here are low cards which increase the chance of a chop (A, 6, 7). There are only a couple boards where we're likely to scoop. Anything with AKK - A99 and another high card is ideal. Three high hearts is also good. Anything else is at least going to threaten this hand.

It's a pretty tough hand to play in limit. You can't bet to price out any draws to beat you, high or low.
