i would call and see a flop on the button. If this were a 150 buck tourney maybe i would fold this, but at this level the action beforehand doesnt' guarantee a premium hand.

I say standard re-raise to 500. If he re-raises all in you can still get out if you think he has QQ / KK / AA.

Otherwise I am pretty sure you are ahead at the time.

I dont agree with 4beting this.
Sure we get alot of hands to fold and might pick up a ok pot here. But what hands are calling the 4bet that we beat? I think only one AK and there where racing, most of the time by 4beting this you either pick up a small pot or lose a big one to hand that haves u dominated.
And i cant see how puting 1/3 of your stack and folding to a shove is profitable, any one care to explain that to me?
I know this is very early in the tournement but if this where a deep-stack tourney i might 4bet but not here,im not willing to risk 1/3 on jacks.
Im smoth calling this in postion and evaluating the flop.

You only have 2 choices here, call or fold.
Call if villian had been playing a little loose and fold if villian has been playing like a nit.
IMHO, I would fold here just because of the size of his bet, I mean why would he raise that much if he wasn't holding a premium hand.

While I generally agree with this, I can think of a gazillion reasons he might be betting agro early in a knock-out tourney.

I'd say flat call, see what the flop brings if it's a good flop, see how he/she plays it and from there on decide

Everyone seems to be focusing on the re-raise. What about the original raiser? He may have a premium hand. You could call just to have him push. Then what do you do?

you want to call this right? so go with your gut instincts. call. if the original raiser pushes, get out. you are probably facing a big ace and a high suited connector such as KQ.

see the flop, if it doesn't look good for you, get out. pretty standard for me.
