Was this a good or bad shove?

Table was typical TAG's, my M was approaching serious danger level and I was already ITM. Pretty standard while I still had some FE? Blinds were 500/1000 with a 125 ante.

Stacks:
BTN with 15040
SB with 17203
BB with 15620
UTG with 63440
UTG+1 with 14618
MP1 with 17850
MP2 with 25862
MP3 with 10653
CO with 15409

Blinds:
Site: Full Tilt Poker
Dealt to CO:T♦ 9♦
Sklansky group 4
Preflop:
5 players fold.
Hero raises to 15,284, and is all in
1 players fold.
SB raises to 17,078, and is all in
SB shows :
K♦ A♠ Hero shows :
10♦ 9♦
1 players fold.
Uncalled bet of 1,794 returned to SB
Total folds this street: 7
Potsize: 32363
Flop:
2♦ 3♥ 4♥
Potsize: 32363
Turn:
4♣
Potsize: 32363
River:
A♣
SB shows two pair, Aces and Fours
Hero shows a pair of Fours
SB wins the pot (32,693) with two pair, Aces and Fours

The reason I got short stacked was someone called off most of their stack on a flush draw and hit on the river (grrrrr), pretty well decimated my stack and after that I was shoving any reasonable hand. To this point it had been 2 small pairs that didn't get called.

I think that it's a fine shove, you just got unlucky that one of the players had a big hand behind you. Your M was like 5 so you didn't have much longer to wait around. I don't think you did anything wrong in the hand.

this is almost EXACTLY what happened to me when I went deep for the first time in the $5 nightly, and honestly, I've regretted it since (busted 19th, one short of the first big money bubble, and obv 10 short of the final table). I personally would've waited, but it's not technically a terrible shove.

Personally I don't like the shove here at all. The hand has no show down value if called and you can't win without improving your hand (maybe by alot if villan has an over pair).

You've also shove a few times before so hands that might have folded before that are ahead of you might call now figuring you are pushing with weak hands.

Yes your getting short, but you still have 15 times the BB, you still have some time to wait for a better spot. Hands like this are good hands to play with several players in the pot if you get to see the flop cheaply. I certainly don't want to have all my chips on the line with it if I can help it. Since everyone folded to you I would fold too and wait for a better spot.
