Quite bad luck, although I think your turn bet is way too small--400 into a 1500 pot--; let's him draw for well over the right price if he chooses to. And if he hits a straight or flush, he'll take your chips, and if he misses you'll get none of his. So I'd build the pot more now. Once he raises the turn, with the draws out there and the fact that it's very hard to maximize value on the river when we're out of position (you pretty much just end up shoving and hoping he'll call, like you did), I probably just get it all-in on the turn.

For a small turn bet like that, the intent should be to get villain to raise and then you re-pop him. Chances are the money should all go in on the turn anyway or he folds. Otherwise, variance/bad luck.

Another `after the event` one!!!

If I had been shown all his hand after the turn I would have pushed all in. I would probably have paid him to call my push!!! How many outs did he have after the turn, the 2 aces???

V unlucky. Some bastard I know knocked me out of a MTT with 104 - caught 1010A on flop, it happens - I had A9. Opppps, that was u Stef :D

lol

U playing 2nite m8?

Re-raise the turn, although he'd probably have called anyway.

This. ^^ But no matter what, you neither of you were getting away from those hands. Bummer Steve. :(

As mentioned above, repop the turn. Any strong ace is going to stack you.

Agreed, you should have bet out on the flop, and possibly re-raised the turn

No bet on flop, you brought it on yourself. I've learned the hard way not to slow play a set.

Yeah bubba is right. Slow playing a set, especially with that flop is a mistake. But mainly just bad luck. You probably should have won the hand but it happens.
