All-in,u have top set with a ok board sure champ could have JQ or 76 but then u still have outs for full-house, and more likly he haves a smallar set/2pars or a semi-bluff flush draw and since its a micro tourney A10/A9 is even in his range

Easy push,my guess is your posting cause he had a straight and your feeling bad about your call

sure, agree.

why ask? did you raise preflop to fold top set, if a 'scary' board happened? A fold is much worse than the call.

If he has the straight does he really shove here? You call and he shows Ax spades or J9 way too often to fold top set. If he has a biggest combo type draw with J9 spades you're still a favorite and against the made straight you'll win about 35% of the time. I call.

Allin, why fold to (at worst) a flush draw or possible straight?

I thought that too. A SAG maybe? (one of the double super duper turbo deluxe ones perhaps?)

The comments/advice are as expected, I guess. Could have given a little more info about the event.
Daily $1.85 + 0.15 buy-in for Nordic players, $3000 guaranteed
846 players
91st-117th pays $6.60
$555 to the winner

And I was torn between dead certainty that it was a (fairly) easy call,
and that gut feeling that told me to fold.
And the opening better still behind me yet to speak
Very early, only level 2, could fold with a fair stack left ...
$555 to the winner!

anyway ...

I would have folded, but I'm usually one of the few who might/would.

'Scared' money player? Not at all (imo), just one who makes a decision NOT to go all-in on nothing more than a couple of "percentage points" slightly in my favor against a scarey board. Especially with players behind me still to call/bet and still 2 cards to see.

To me, it's a matter of making a decision just how valuable your tourney life is based on the outcome of one hand, not a 'poker' decision.

This is, however, an insta-call in a cash game.

What is 'donkey' about seeing a relatively cheap flop with connectors? Villain tried to stay in the pot for the cost of the BB and only called the raise.

Position makes all the difference. Villain was already in the pot. Early hands, hard to tell if he would have called the 120 if he had later position in a different hand and had to call the full 120 to see the flop.

What's the purpose in seeing flops with connectors? Sometimes they hit, sometimes they don't.

Have no idea what Mosen29 was doing in the hand ... ... but this wasn't about him/her, even tho they had the 4th 10. See the flop with A-rag, marginal, but after that - THERE is the 'donk'.

This is NEVER a fold situation. I don't care if he did flip over J,Q. I don't care if he would have had 6,7. When you start folding top set you are making -EV moves and in the long run pay for it. 9 out of 10 when he shoves like that he's holding either the FD or something like J,9 or A10, which you're more than happy to go against as you will win most of the time.

This hand is just a case of bad luck, sucks, move on to the next hand and try again later.
