Are you for real with this question? Villain has shown nothing, and expressed no interest in this hand till now other than seeing the flop.

This screams of the big stack steal to a disinterested or missed hand. Don't just call, reraise and put the screws to him. While an all-in bet here looks tempting, I like the idea here of a MIN reraise! Many would spank me for this here, but my logic goes like this,

Villain sees from your pf raise that you had something. He is the big stack and, as the BB, is already invested in the hand, so he's getting better than 2-1 odds to call your raise, likely with A-rag or another pocket pair.
It is unlikely he hit the flop, turn or river, or at best he hit a pair, and 2nd or 3rd pair at that. Probabilities of a busted draw are bigger.

He sees you as the shortstack, and this as a perfect place to steal the pot. If you are lucky here he has his ego in play and wants to steal with air.

If you shove your whole stack back at him, you give him an easy fold situation, however, a min raise would challenge his ego, and him shoving back is not out of the question. This would be your most profitable moment as you would call in a heartbeat.

If you weren't willing to do this from the start, you should have folded you small pocket pair PF.

I agree with the logic behind the min raise.

Yes, I'm real in asking the question dj11 lol...I'm asking do you just call his bet or re-raise.

Big stack had recently doubled, knocking out a loose/aggressive player.
His play had been conservative.

the river bet by the villian screams big stack steal and it also screams trap. it could go either way. my first impression of the hand was a trap. i thought for sure he hit a set on the turn and checked hoping for a bet. then bet the river because he thought it would be his last chance to get any value out of the hand.

like switch said you did very well not to go broke on this hand. i think i would have played it the same way. tough break though.

yeah i push all in on the river in this situation about 142% of the time

this is just a tough break

more often then not your opponent won't have the straight and without betting you'd be missing a good opportunity to get chips

His immediate check on the turn, which I hadn't seen him do before..
..I dunno...a hint that he may of hit a hand maybe. I didn't quite go bust but almost. My 690 stack lost in a 60/40 two hands later.

Y'know, me and Stars just don't mix this year
