For me that is a shove regardless if freeroll or not. You have 6BB left and only one player to contend with, and I would expect the CO to open wide here even with a lower chip stack then the rest of the table. I'm likely wrong but that is what I would have done

Seems fine to me. The stop and go play maximises fold equity, and if he call, you usually have around 35% equity. Of course we are not expecting him to fold top pair, but he wont always have that.

I think the correctness of your play (or otherwise) will have a lot to do with how close you are to the money, or pay jumps if you are already there.

I'm often surprised at how ICM factors can change what I would have thought to be a standard play to a 'wrong' one.

I like this play. If Villain does not have an Ace he will most likely fold. If he does call you still have outs.
