I don't play MTTs... are we supposed to check-shove flop? Calling pre is ok?

My humble opinion is that in a flop with so many projects it is better to be cautious. When the K appeared on the turn it completed the straight so I wouldn't have put much more money . I would have paid another street but never all-in.

Well, on the flop I think we're pretty far ahead... against his exact hand we are slightly ahead...

he doesn't have many 8s in his hand, he could have KT, but unlikely. He will call with some KQ AQ hands, and his exact hand would also call, but after he bets I think it's better to shove over his bet. (???) Too many bad turn cards for us.

When the King turned we should give up for sure.

You obviously had a good hand on the flop, but you have a straight and flush board. You need to try to isolate once your opponent bets the flop. Since you check call, you can see another straight card hits the turn, giving you a chance to get away. Not only that, but any K-two pair hand hits the turn.

I wouldn't check raise that flop with less than a set.. it's so good for an ep open.. so just call flop and fold turn.. you cannot beat anything when that K comes.. (but again this is cc freeroll and that guy could have 22 and try to bluff)

I think with 20 BBs or thereabouts, a check shove on that flop would be fine

Check shoving allows opponent play perfect against us and get away if needed. As the villain - facing a check shove on the flop with that exact holding - depending on the notes I have on the opponent - influences my actions. With this being a freeroll - it's quite difficult as the villain to range you with that shove, though it's uncommon for anyone other than identified maniac donks to shove with less than a pair on the flop, although which pair it is (top/middle/bottom) larger pockets, or baby pockets - is even more difficult to gauge.

As the villain - I'd probably fold and stack you later, making such aggressive moves on the flop, although shipping top with medium kicker isn't a terribly aggro move, just the move where you win the least and loose the most when you are beat, or the gambler with A/T makes the call and wins on the turn or river.
