HATE the call preflop. You're committing over 10% of your stack with a marginal hand and 7 people left to act. This is a clear fold.

After committing this horrendous blunder, I am willing to get my chips in here with a pair + flush draw on this unpaired board which doesn't allow for a str8 (yet).

Hi, as you played after the flop ... I think it is a good call. I play like you. Middle pair & Flush Draw - it seems strong here. It is about 14 outs = about 55% after the flop to win this hand. IMO it is worth to risk.

I try not to play so many speculative hands in tournaments. It's especially risky calling a raise from an early raiser(which indicates strength) in such early position(more to act behind you). You can't even stand a re-raise and really the raise. You are a lot more likely to be on a draw facing action than flopping the best hand. Afterwards you pretty much have to call, that's a really good flop for your speculative hand(still not a good situation).

It is right to call here with middle pair, flush draw and backdoor flush draws. But preflop i am folding J9 from middle position for sure. I think it is not right to call a raise of 4.4 BB with J9 from any position in early phase of tourney.

you are out of position, and plus utg has raised preflop, so it is clearly a fold preflop, you've got 40 blinds, and you will sure lose 10% of your stack, if you don't puto more chips in it. Once on the flop you have a flush draw, and could hit 2 pair or doubles. This makes 14 outs in total. So you have about 50% chance of having a better hand. But this doesn't ensure you will win. You have played a speculative hand out of position, and you now find yourself with a difficult decition. To try to prevent this situations you have to play speculative hands only when you are in position and the hand comes folded. And on the flop the call is ok, because you have 14 outs to have a better hand, and you would more than double up. The call is ok there, but i insist that you should have folded this hand preflop
