Not sure what you are asking about here? You started with 6BB, which is a pure push-fold stack, and you had KK, which is the second best starting hand in NLH. So yes of course you should open shove, as you did. Its more interesting to find out, what your entire shoving range looks like, so I plugged the hand into ICMizer telling the program, it was a 300-man MTT on PokerStars. And you are supposed to shove 18% of hands here, which is 33+, A8+, KJ+, A2s+, JTs+. So pretty close to, what Collin Moshman call "the magic range" in the CC 30-day course: All suited aces, all suited broadways and (nearly) all pairs. COs calling range by the way is 99+, AQ+, AJs.

Some of those hands like 33, A8o, KJo and A2s are essentially break-even or showing very marginal profit, so its ok to fold them. But if your instinct here is to basically fold everything and hope for someone else to bust, so you can level up a place or two, thats a serious mistake and something, you need to reconsider. The best way to outlast the other short stacks and level up is to find spots to open jam and accumulate some chips, so that they are the first, who will blind away. And if you can dubble up twice, now you are suddenly back in contention for the top 3-4 places, where the real money are in all MTTs.

Watching replayer one step at a time no results known

First point is this is a FT so ICM ranges and strategies are used but we have KK so there a very few spots where we would fold if any

We have 5.5 bb there is exactly one thing to do only- we get all-in preflop by shoving or calling a shove- We do this 100% of the time and we never second guess ourselves ever-

I smell a bad beat story in the future of this thread....

Unless this is the stone cold bubble of a satellite, you can not do anything but shove here.
