No particular reads but villain hesitated quite a bit before moving in (although not enough to get 15 seconds left message)

Def fold this, no way you can make this call with just JJ

I've never played one of these, so I don't know how they play out.

I like your reraise to isolate, but a repop I would take to indicate JJ+, at best AK so I'd vote fold. If you think that range is too tight for this early in this tourney, then maybe it is a call.

I do like the play to isolate but I think it is unfortunate to run into what looks a big hand.

I think we are beating the first player in the pot. With a monster, no matter if they are short stacked, I think they try to get as much chips as possible. He could have a lower pair or maybe two overcards, but like you I liked our chances heads up.

To me, unless there is a read otherwise, the repop all-in by the next villan suggests at least AK. It is unfortunate, but even with favourable pot odds (4000 or so:1565 or so it is over 2.5:1) we are crippled if we call and lose and everything suggests we are behind or racing. I fold. Unlucky though.

I'd call. 50 cents game, might as well go out early than late. Huge pot odds to take a chance that you are racing or ahead.

I still agree on the call though :) . I haven't played this tourney in a real long time but his shove could mean many hands including ones that are racing or WB like TT or 99. It's early enough to take a risk to get big stack or just get knocked out.

.5 tourney = call :)

These types of hands are why it's kind of ridiculous to apply common strategy to the super-micros and freerolls.

Lmao, I see you like talking chit :D .

Yeah good call, knowing the bad play in these tournies it's almost impossible to lay down JJ this early in it. If he shoves and has you WB so be it, but the chances are much higher that he doesn't. Some may think it's wrong to make a decision based on the buy-in, but I think it's right because you have to adapt to the players around you.

Although they're a mess :) , I almost feel like playing a few of these again :D , since I'm still stuck at the lower limits (can't get my BR to play steadily at the $30 buy-ins, I can only give them a shot every now and then  ).

People at these stakes love to isolate with small pairs and AK. (obv big pairs as well, but just remember not to limit their range to QQ+, AK)

Well, see he knew he was going to at least pair his Ace, he just didn't expect you to hit a set.

the pot odds at over 2.5 to 1 were too good to pass up and as several pointed out it was early in a cheap tourney -- I can risk the 50 cents vs doubling up+.
