This is like the third or fourth hand of this SnG, so far the table has been very loose/ aggresive and at this point I have no reads on either of the players involved in the pot.

fold for mine, so early in the tournament i couldn't get my chips in and even if they are holding trash it wouldn't be much better then a coin flip for the outcome.

Easy fold for me, I'm attached to my buy in for the first few levels of a tourney.

Of course I'll let you know soon, Sammy :D. I'll wait some longer, I didn't think it was as clear cut as the consensus says.

I'll often gamble with AKs in these early stages unless I'm up against someone who I have previous notes on and I know isn't putting his money in without a big pair or AK himself.

Keep in mind the time factor - if we call and lose this, we can fire up another STT right away. If we can and win, we get a nice double up + some dead money.

I dunno...without reads, I'm probably tossing this. If we were faced with just a push after our raise (instead of raise-push), I'd be more inclined to get my stack in. A lot of people play medium pairs and weak aces (AT,AJ etc) like this because they don't want to have to play them postflop. Here, with a raise and a reraise ahead of this guy, I'm leaning towards folding without some very enticing notes.

In an sng I think it is too early to call that. I do like to gamble in the same situation in a mtt though. Big early stack in an sng is good, but give me that triple up early in a large mtt and that is beautiful.

Well, despite knowing the allin was likely AA or KK, I made a decision after taking a drink of beer (<--- which is probably why I made the decision I did)....

OK, the reason I posted this is mainly (a) I felt I made a horrible call and (b) it bugged the hell out of me and I wanted to know why I did it(besides being beer buzzed). So here goes my thought process during...

When the first re-raiser popped it up to 375 I planned to either re-raise him big or push. Early in STT's a re-raise like this could be a wide range of hands, and often a aggressive player applying pressure. The allin from the big blind sent off warning bells in my head. Commonsense screams AA, if not KK. But he could be doing this also with AK/QQ/JJ, and (barring no reads but we've all seen it) TT/99.

Now if I call and the 2nd re-raiser folds, the pot is laying me 1.46/1. With his possible range of hands (JJ+, AKs/o) he's a 57/42 favorite - 1.35/1. I'm slightly behind his range of hands (note - if its AA or KK I'm WAY behind) and almost getting the odds I need to call.

So I called. Not a great call by any means, but closer then I originally thought. As Chuck said, I have a chance to double, maybe triple up early and if I miss I just reload with only 4 minutes lost. Now, I normally would not call in a situation like that and already know it was one of my more brain dead plays (just pick a better spot I kept telling myself), but the chance to double up really early got the better of me. That and my beer kept telling me he wasn't holding AA.

Thanks for your replies everyone, and confirming that I'm an moron.:D

lol i wouldn't call you a moron you went through a good series of thoughts on your way to making your decision and you found that you had the best cards in your hand and had him/her dominated, shame about the flop but a spilt pot is better then being sucked out from the SnG i guess.

you're not a moron, a moron folds a full house. you had a good hand to take to the races it just wasnt good enough. if you have the bankroll to comfortably cover the 10 then it was worth a shot and go on to the next tourney. but if your main objective is to make the make the money then its better to wait till you're the aggressor and not two people behind you reraising

No, you have only 100 invested in the pot (and stand to still have a nice sized stack after the fold), you cannot possibly call this since at least one of the original raiser has a pp and you're behind. Even the lowliest of pp puts you at a virtual coinflip wich isn't the best spot to put your money in this early.

With the blinds growing and you being shortstacked, it's instashove, now it's instafold.
