This hardly looks like a made flush, but is it a set/high PP enough for this to be a fold? How often is this a flat out bluff? Nothing really makes much sense here. Combo draw like an 8 or 9 with a high diamond?

Fold pf, fold flop as played. You asked the question (ie bet 300), he answered. Even when you're hand is good you're not much of a favourite. The majority of the time I think you're seeing no worse than an all in semibluff with a diamond draw and probably at least one overcard, in which case you really don't want to get your money in here.

Smells kinda like Ad to me... maybe with a ten kicker given the raise before the flop, though combo draws, sets and overpairs also make up a big part of the range here too.

I'd figure you're behind a big chunk of the villain's range, and you're unlikely to improve, so folding's the best option.

You could of course make a hero call then try to fade half the deck, but why cause yourself the aggravation this early?

Preflop you want to call if you have position and it's a multiway pot. Here you're out of position against just one opponent who is the big stack, fold preflop. As played fold on flop.

ok well I'm convinced I played this horribly at every decision, I ended up calling this, facing AQ with Ad and my hand standing up. Note to self: playing while studying for diffeq exam is -ev lol.
