We're on the bubble and Im 8/10. Barks81 is 9/10 and 10/10 is sitting on 20K-25K. My Mzone is 3.3

My thinking is that we are short-handed and I have a decent hand to shove in with when I have 6.5 BBs. If I take the pot down, it'll increase my stack by 30%. Also, this being the bubble, I expect play to be a little bit tighter. I didnt really fear the big-stacks calling me unless they had a monster of a hand because my raise is such a huge percentage of their stack to call. Possibly JJ-AA, A10(pushing it)-AK, and mid pairs 77-1010, which I dont mind racing with. The only person I was slightly worried about calling was Barks81, who could call with a large range of hands.

Seat 8: postnappel folded before Flop (didn't bet)
Seat 9: TRM_SHRiMP showed [Js Qd] and lost with a pair of Fours

Thinking about it now, the short-stack would've been gone in a few rotations if they didnt improve and I couldve probably folded my way to FT.

I made the play because I was interested in winning the pot and improving my chances (ever so slightly) of winning the whole shebang. However, was it foolish to make this play when I am most likely sure of a FT? My stack would still be low, but at least I have one less person to go through.

Whether this is a good or bad shove depends on the payout structure of the tournament.

Did you have any stats or reads on barks81? Had s/he been active recently or been folding a lot? What kind of hands had s/he shown down the last 2-3 times?

I don't like pushing with that sort of hand myself, because as was the case here the type of hands calling you can often have you dominated. Though with an M so low it's hard to sit and wait for a better spot..

i would probably gone once more around at least and see what happens. i would rather have any A or K to push with. QJ is open to too many other hands to beat it.

Ouch.

I think I probably let this one go? If you get called you're likely to be in a coinflip at best, and dominated at worst, so really we may as well be pushing any two cards here. In fact, they're more likely to be live if you're shoving something like 78s.

Given that there's a really short stack in the game, I might be inclined to wait it out.
